What did you do to your Skoda today?

Featured Replies

I resprayed mine. In brown. Did the sides, the back, the bonnet and the windows too. If I don't like it by next week I might power wash it off.

Put the condensation catchers in both cars and washed the Luxobarge.

Delayed entry for Saturday: fitted my Mobius dash cam and a USB charging cable into the DIN tray under my head unit.

Today: noticed my 1000 mile service indicator has come up and that my mileage is approaching 123456 :)

Tested the 4x4 by doing this:

I dont think 4x4 was really pushed there was it ;).

Bring it round here. Soon see what its like in the white stuff! Aha.

Wednesday, I had a minor service, wheels balanced, tracking adjusted, new backing plate on the OSR wheel fitted.  Car is smooth and quiet now :D

Today, it's getting a wash :)

The mud was up to the bottom of the door on the drivers side.

The 4x4 kicked in a few times on the way to work this morning.

Yeah! Aha.

Ground clearance is the issue round here atm for those with decent tyres aha.

Gonna say what the T5 can do soon. Bit higher up but also loaded with heavy stuff. So.

Yesterday and today I tested the Haldex was working...   Guess who's the tyre tracks are!   :D

Tested out the vector 4 seasons.

Yup. Defo performing

Washed it. Snow foam is almost as fun as real snow.

And after:

Snow foamed it and left it while I filled the bucket with some nice warm water and when I got back with the power washer it came off easy as anything. Very happy.

Then I checked tyre pressure, tyre fitters over inflated fronts by 0.3 bar and backs by 0.1 and 0.4 (you wouldn't think they even had a gauge) But at least I didn't have to pump them up. Checked oil and put some windscreen washer fluid in.

Checked the oil (deeply annoyed the Skoda garage over filled it), topped up the screen wash and drove it 120 miles on the M25. Came home, swapped into Mrs H's Fabia, drove it too :)

Got some new alloys and tyres

And put a plate surround on it

Excellent, wondered how 'old faithful' was getting along

Epically well.

I decided to stop giving you updates in case it was annoying you via PM. However in coming PM! Sorry!

Yesterday fitted new Osram Nightbreaker headlight bulbs. Today topped up screenwash and cleaned headlights, rear lights and number plates. Again!

Octy:

Checked tyre pressures and foung the garage has overfilled the new rear n/a by .4 bar.

Drove it another 130 miles around the M25.

Hosed the dirt off, washed it, shampooed it, put on some autoglym SRP, opened the Dodo Juice Blue Velvet I recevied at Christmas and did the bonnet and wings before the light went. (v exicted to see it tomorrow morning).

Hoovered the inside out.

Fabia:

Began to wash it, saw how much tar was on it. gave up, Hoovered the inside.

4 bar! Bouncy.

Yeah, but overfilling by 4 bar would take it up to around 6 bar. Bouncier.

That's what, about 90 psi. More likely to be BANG first time you went over a bump.

And on topic. If I don't post anything on the forum for a while you can assume that the pheasants family have got their revenge.

Sigh...missing a '.'

Sorry - long day.

I changed the rear bump stops on the Octavia today - see I can do on topic too.

Annoying also replaced a blown headlamp bulb which decided to blow on the way to TPS yesterday to buy the new bump stops.

Ah, so not as bad as it first looked then. A bit like mine with about .4 bar over on one of them, just goes to show with these expert people doesn't it? And some people just leave the tyres until they go bald and ever check them.

My mates garage normally inflates tyres to about 40psi if they aren't going straight on the car. That way you just to let them down to the pressure you need when you fit them.
