Fuel consumption on VRS Mk1

Featured Replies

Mine is stage 2, my last tank was about 28mpg.

I don't really use it for anything but fun though, so it probably gets a fair amount more stick than average.

is 22mpg avg for standard mk1 octy vrs

is 22mpg avg for standard mk1 octy vrs

depends how heavy your right foot is and how long your journey is and what kind of roads etc

Mine's giving 22 when cold at the moment, seems to be a particular indicator for when something goes wrong but I haven't worked out what that something is. Heard the same number being bandied around a few times though.

VRS - 44.3 MPG over an 18 mile journey, motorways, A roads and a bit of town.

Elegance - 77.9 over a 70 mile journey, country lanes, A roads and motorway.

Cars are both standard.

Mines been averaging 22 lately because the thermostat was knackered, it's back to around 28 now, I think it's been dying for a while tbh honest as I have had a gradual decline over a few months.

Theres been a speight of them going lately so get 'em checked.

I think that's probably it - I have noticed a delay in getting up to 90 / warm air through the blowers, and wondered if the cold spell might have tweaked it too far. I was getting 28 around town before that too, so will get it looked at. Cheers :)

Thats what mine was doing as well

I did mine myself, just need the right tools and it's easy enough.

hi all

miles per gallon means nothing to me (who cares just fill it) all i look for is smiles per gallon

Interesting topic this. I've just had my thermostat replaced, and I also changed back from a Green air filter to the bog standard.

Now on a 40 mile round trip (aka the daily commute), I'm averaging sub 30mpg all the time! And this is a at a not very crazy 50-60mph on B-roads due to traffic.

Doing the same route (using Super U/L) with a knackered thermostat and the Green filter, would average around 34/45!!??? :wonder:

Due a service in 2k miles, but why such a dramatic difference in MPG?

After driving too and from Wooler yesterday, i got an average of 40mpg. As long as I kept it off the boost. Car has a stage 2 map on it too.

Fuel light came on this morning after 437 miles still showing 30 miles range left.

After my Jabbasport stage 2 remap I am getting between 300 - 350 miles per tank.

Can only run her on V-Power now but mapped to 239bhp according to graph.
