From Scoobynet - Unmarked Vrs Police Car

Featured Replies

Lol, they think its news?

Its been mentioned several times on this site (by myself & others) that plod is using the Octavia vRS as an unmarked traffic car.

Maybe the peeps on Scoobynet should look in here more often for the latest news :p

Which is how I migrated (along with a few others here!) from Scoobydom to Skudacy. :D

It is going to make our life difficult though if Mr Plod buys more and more Octavias though, isn't it ?

Its still a novelty to see a vRS (even more so a 4x4) and the camaraderie (spelling?) is there. I'm not sure how waving at another one as you pass it at 95 on the M1 will go down if it turns out to be a traffic cop !

:drive1:

Cambs police seem to be fans of Skodas - they also have a few marked Octavia estates in silver.

Does the trick of looking for the multiple aerials work with the vRS in question?

Or perhaps just check that there is no Briskoda.net sticker!!

Naaahhh, not really, from what i hear, most forces are leaving the vRS in standard tune, so chip your car and leave em in your wake :drive1: (joking by the way)

We all know the usual signs of a Stealth Plod car anyway...

The additional rear-view mirror on the passenger side.

Multiple Aerials (the 4 aerials for the tracker system are a dead giveaway if fitted.)

Strange black objects in the front window (cameras etc)

Flip up sign on the rear parcel shelf (usually covered by a rug or coat)

Lights in the front grille (though these will be a swine to spot on the vRS i think)

Cars being driven at bang on the speed limit (who drives an RS like that other than PC Plod ?)

Sequential Number Plates (get to know your local Sherrif's Reg No's)

The BIG give away...

The 1 or 2 Lard-Arsed coffee swilling traffic cops sitting in the front, either wearing yellow jackets, or clean white shirts & black ties.

However, i have noticed that as my local force has 5 RS's identical to mine, i dont tend to attract as many long stares from the regular cops as i used to in my Astra ;)

You might do if you keep calling them 'lard-arsed coffee swilling traffic cops'!!!

Not my fault if they can't handle the truth hehehehe :D

I have seen at least 3 vrs estate police cars in west yorkshire, and definitely one hatch.

AT the end of the day it makes commercial sense for them to buy a

Geoff, you forgot to mention the luxuriant porn star moustache

:D

The greek police uses the Octavia FWD 150bhp as standard patrol cars, and the RS for highway patrols. The latter come with the ABT mod (official from Skoda-GR).

Way too many unmarked (standard and RS) police Octavias here in GR :(
