Just tried to fit my new intercooler at long last, failed miserably. :cry: Unfortunately it`s a golf mk4 item and i would have to rework to much of the front end to make it fit. Just wondering if any of you guys know of a direct fit item that wuold sit in front of the rad with minimum hassle.

Oh well onto the next project, the cruise control, not looking forward to that.

Now how does this valance fit back on :?

One of our dutch bretheron have fitted the **** of intercoolers, have a look at this

If you look to the bottom left you can see the original one. Quite a lot of work involved though, including custom pipework

Looks like someones scania is now missing an intercooler. That looks like a whole lot of trouble. Nice try though.

Another item obtained from that man you know, by any chance? And did it fall off the front of a lorry this time? What with no cruise control or intercooler, someone out there must be wondering what is going to go missing next. Wheels, maybe, or have they gone already?

But I digress. I'm sorry to have to raise this one with you, but the Briskoda Three seem to be having a lie-in today. Intercoolers and cruise control are not really subjects which should properly be aired in the Lounge. If you take time to look around this website :roll: , you will see that the founders have anticipated the need of at least some members to discuss technical matters by providing forums called General Maintenance, and Performance General. How about using them ...

Which intercooler did you try to fit? What was the problem with it?

The one in the pic above is from an Audi 2.5TDI Allroad estate, with the bottom 3 rows removed so that it would fit.

Is that what you call a fit!! It looks like it will get taken off by the first speed hump it meets.

Ooops. Forgot the Allroad has enhanced ground clearance...

I think i`ts a Forge item for golf mk4 (I don`t ask silly questions). I would have to rework bumber and find new mountings for it to fit which i am not prepared to do. We did have it running with the cooler clamped in place, the difference in performance is quite noticeable, it`s like when you first start the car up. Top speeds can be maintained even with increased boost. Looked silly with no bumper.

Have you got one fitted yourself, if so which one and how.

Looking round the net as I do, on the swedish RS site a guy by the name of gregor seems to have an intercooler mounted between the rad and the bumber, check out the 2 pics here http://213.114.55.125/gregor.htm . They are the 2 on the second row. Checkout the 3rd row for some neon.

I did not noticed that. Though they do get heated seats with their RS's. Oh and xenon lights.

Thats a dam fine reason to goto Scotland to visit my partners family...she'll know I'm up to somthing though...Rolling Road too.

But then I'll have to redeclare the chip to the insurance co. :( I know it's more than the published figure, but not for sure if that follows.

HE, THAT IS MINE CAR! Its working very fine! The power is more constant, and quicker also. I have no problems whit it yet, no overheating, and it is not too low. Maybe i can sent some new pictures to Manny? :?: I have done some mods sinds my last visit(vortex): EBC Brakes, Koni yellow shoks, airfilter and some optical tuning.

I still like the RS a lot!!

What else have you done to the car performance-wise? Just the intercooler and (probably) a free-flow exhaust system? And 246bhp? If so, then JD is a magician...

Or did you also install a K04 turbo? And if not, are you planning to, to get it over 250bhp? Or perhaps an IHI...

My RS has the a dual Audi TT setup fitted by AmD, it seems to work pretty well. I don't get the bleed of in power I use to get with my K04 setup. Starperformance FMIC is
