IHI Turbo status

Featured Replies

The IHI also sets you up for more power, once youve Improved the internals & transmission you can map it to give more power

Youre now on the even steeper slippery slope !!

From what I know the only real options are IHI or K04.

Not forgeting the GT28rs and for real nutters the GT40rs.

From what I know the only real options are IHI or K04. I don't see K04 really gives that much more than what we've already got with Jabba on K03s whereas IHI is in a different league and very practical as you say. Rather expensive though.

What are your inputs Adrian?

I refer you to my honourable friend Delcac's comments. ;)

K04 was an option but after much reading it needs a lot of work to get it to perform a lot better than the K03S. So the relative initial small outlay (

Any news on what sort of discount the Group buy would give as IHI remains the only one to consider if it wasn't so expensive? The Ibiza boys seem very pleased with the results of the Stage III version.

Chris,

I'm in discussion with Jabba.....it will probably be more than 10% off the kit plus, perhaps something off fitting as well.

As I thought the difference between the Beeza kit and Octy is the FMIC and the downpipe. No Octy dp s have been made yet....Jabba will need to make a pattern off their Octy/Mk IV Golf.

I applaud Alex's attempt in trying to get Star to reveal their cheaper alternative and hope all those interested get to see the details. Why the big secret.

Thank you very much Chris, all this cloak and dagger stuff is a real pain.

all we want is facts/figures and costs,so we can use our brains and decide if its good bhp per pound, thats all that matters in the real world.

its our money in the end, they aim to profit so cut the cr*p guys.

hmmmm :rubchin:

Just pondering...

If you've already got:

3" downpipe

100cel cat

custom exhaust

and a mahoosive FMIC

then is an IHI conversion going to cost that much more :rubchin:

misty dream sequence mode :i wonder:

Alex,

I totally agree, its only fair to give Star a chance. Whilst I am very happy with what Jabba has done for my car the IHI conversion is at least three times as expensive on a bhp per

There are Des... but it's no good if they're all a bit cloak and dagger secret squirrel :)

Who again Des ?

How about giving IP their own forum Des, then you can plug them as much as you like. :)

How on earth did we get to the stage of plugging another company's product on one of our Partner's forums?

Nice to read something other than Jabba though....

I think this is a done deal.

What are the contact details for IP again?

What does IP stand for again?

Where are IP based again?

yes but how can comparisons be drawn if different tuners have different sections?

ok this started about Jabba and IHI but its obvious that the other tuners are going to mentioned on a thread like this.

how about a section on this subject and we can invite the tuners to "Sell" there products to us not us having to decipher there sales pitch all the time.

as i have stated cost per bhp is what matters the most when its our hard earned cash.

I think this is a done deal.

look forward to it Des ;)

 Dunno Dennis!

Chris - dont worry these kits wont be out of date. The new 2l fsi cars will feel nothing like a chipped or big turbo'd 18t

So in summary the turbo choices are:

K04 (Star)

IHI (Jabba)

GT28 (IP)

I would suggest that anyone thinking about a turbo kit goes and has a read through the technical 1.8T section of VWVortex.

They are WAY ahead of us and the forums are extremely informative - you can read how various turbos perform on our motor.

I'll post again in My Performance where I should have in the first place.

it just goes to show that the "bigger" turbo debate is still live :)
