I enjoyed using my heated front screen for the first time... Magic. Oh and the heated seats are just amazing too, almost instant heat compared to the ones in my old Fabia/Passat which took longer to heat up than the engine :P

Scraping?! Can of de-icer! :D

SWMBO uses a kettle of boiling water. I have warned her, quite looking forward to the windscreen shattering one day

I was working from home for a bit this morning so by the time I got out to the car the sun had melted it for me!

Need to replace the heated mirrors though they are next to useless as the moment.

And another vote for heated seats! Life saver on cold leather on a morning!

I have a screen cover for cold nights like last night.

I didnt realise last night would be soo cold, so didnt put it on the car :(

Its going on tonight, so clearing the windscreen will take seconds :)

I'm the same as Tom, Heated front screen and seats :D

But i did clean the windows on the Roomy for Lynz.

No, I didn't. It took 7 minutes to scrape the windows clear on the Fabia and even longer for the windscreen to clear of mist on the inside - the latter one of the hidden joys of owning a diesel. :(

Old shower curtain over screen did for me - will decide about tonight based on whether I see gritters out at home: forecast is for rain...

I normally just poor a pan or other of luke warm water over the windows and it clears instantly, scraping not necessary. I would not advise hot as it might crack the screen. Tt may freeze over again if the engine and heaters are not on especially on those extra cold days. It works far faster than any spray can or other de-icer.

I am not very keen on heated front screens, they are brilliant at clearing frost of preventing misting but they are awful at night particularly on those wet murky nights as they make seeing even more difficult. I guess it might be all of those wiggly lines.

No I didnt!!! I had to scrape ice from the inside!!!!

Heated windows sounds good . . . instead i was out with the good old commet store card haha not what you wanna be doing first thing in the morning.Didn't take too long though :)

I garage mine so no problems whatsoever.Another vote for headted seats though :D

Bloomin' hard work this morning, as it was ice rather than frost. My car scraping muscles must have atrophied during the summer!

I did this, but did 1/3 boiled kettle and then filled up with cold water so it was just "fairly warm". :) Repeated dribbles over the screen seemed to warm it up sufficiently to not allow a re-freeze, and sufficiently cold to not worry about screen cracking. Anyway, I don't think we has a severe frost down by the Devon coast, compared to inland.

Where do ya get them there "Headted" seats from Nok ?Is it a Scots innovation ?

Mines kept in a garage overnight, so no scraping for me.

I use luke-warm water with no issues at all. Going from freezing to 20-ish degrees isn't going to do any harm. I wouldn't use boiling water though.

I use the same method as Jason to clear frost. I either use a half filled kettle or a small watering can used for house-plants filled with hot (not boiling) water. Then turn wipers on or use an old wiper to stop the water from freezing again. I would love to see a heated front screen in action.

When It is really cold, poring water on the door seals helps to get in as well. I have once burned out my boot lock motor when it was really frosty!

Heated screen is great. Very much a refined version in my Mazda compared to my old Focus. You have to look really hard to see the wire weave, and no issues with oncoming headlights at all.

Another good thing is Ombrello - you don't tend to get water standing on the screen in the first place. :)

Ice ..............WTF is that, by the time I leave the house theres no such thing lol.

Eau natruale defrosting for me. lol

I have had two cars with heated screens and hopefully they will be the last ford Mondeo and a Jaguar X-Type 3.0 Sport Premium not impressed with night time vision at all, blurred with light scatter and without a drink either. Perhaps Mazda is better but it is or was the same parent company, Ford using many similar components.

Yeah, I still think its moved up a generation, the wire mesh is virtually invisibile in daylight, and barely noticeable with oncoming headlights. I used to hate the screen in my old Focus and my mates ST TDCI Mondeo...
