Head vs. Heart

Featured Replies

It's the saloon I've ordered in Pearl Black Magic with Onyx Leather. Same as the one I had on test drive - it looked cool sat on the drive.

The only extras I've omitted are the heated windscreen and solar sunroof. Everything else is on.

Should have opted for the heated screen. It has been a godsend this winter for me. Solar sunroof I agree is not such a great option but adding all the rest add up to a brilliant mega spec motor. Enjoy when it arrives. G.K.

It was on my mind, but I've used a Mondeo with the facility and it doesnt agree with my eyes - I wear contacts or glasses permanantly.

I've also heard they may affect the operation of satnav units - even though I'll have the excellent Skoda satnav, I still have a windscreen mounted TomTom that warns me of "potential accident sites". That's saved me many pounds, euros and points over the years :giggle:

Also, I would expect a 3.6 V6 will warm up quite quickly - I know the diesel I test drove took 10 mins or so.

I have just posted elsewhere that I am starting to think seriously about chopping in the Octy vRS for a 3.6 V6 Superb. Seen a couple of nearly new ones (sub 5k miles, 09 plates) for around the £20k mark - at that money the depreciation is less of an issue and the whole shooting match starts to make a lot more sense.

To the OP - good ordering my man! I am deeply jealous, and your gleeful abandon may just have persuaded me to take another step along the path of self-destruction in due course! Love to know how you like the car when you get it. Good hunting.

Nice! You are my hero now.

Delivery date is now through - my V6 beast will be at the dealers on 8th May

Best of luck wiyh your new car, it will be some motor, just as well you're not going to be taxing it here in Ireland, as tax for the 2.0TDI (170bhp), is €302 per year, while the 3.6FSI V6, is €2100. as well as being about €11,000 more expensive, in the first place.

Beauty :D

Nice one, I think cost aside the V6 + DSG + 4WD is the ultimate combination of luxury and power. They seem to be quite rare and the few I have seen on autotrader are keeping their prices pretty high

Hi there! Would just like to say that I have ordered a V6 Combi in Cappuccino beige and light leather interior and found out that it has arrived at the dealers this week! They said it needs to be cleaned up after the journey here to Sweden, but once it's been given a full dose of Mr. Cap (inside & out) I will go by and have a look before sorting out the sale of my current car, so I can get the keys to my new beauty. I used to own a BMW 535d, what a thunderbolt of an engine that was! Sold it on account of having bought it so cheaply, that I hardly lost anything on its' value after one year of ownership. Now cruising in a very fine 745 (2004 version), but family planning (ie. the result of it!) has put a new spin on reality. The Superb Combi V6 seemed like the dream ticket. Tax here in Sweden is only €250 /y while there is no additional tax on car price other than the standard 25% VAT. So with dealer discount and all ( I ordered almost every single option on the list apart from TV tuner and some other gimmick) I will have to pay roughly €36000 for the whole package :)

4x4 makes perfect sense given Scandinavia's icy winter roads. I look forward to reporting good things just as soon as I get my hands on this new car of mine! :)

Well done that man, you only live once. I drive a MGZT V8 Supercharged. Again limited mileage and big smiles. And for the eco's out there I also have a fiesta 1.6 tdci, fun but not in the same league. Enjoy it and tell the grand kids how you saved the planet from freezing over!!!!

Steve.

I will be very interested to hear GOOD things about it! I've ordered a Black V6 Superb Estate with black leather and sunset glass! Being built early May and supposed to get it middle to late June! To appease the tree huggers I will be ordering a new 1.2T DSG Fabia Estate, black on black, for my wife! ;)
