AMD one click.... Wow

Yes I can ask about another rolling road day ! I think also people like Roo who had problems last time need to remove the bash plate before they take the car on the rollers.

Whats the general concensus on what BHP a AmD one click'd Fabia vRS will have? I don't want to start a long thread on it, but would it be the same as a REVO'd remap with SP1 or a JabbaSport remap?

I think the sensible answer would be they're all pretty much the same. If there was a big difference between one another in RR bhp, I'd say it's down to the RR calibration rather than the map itself ;)

That's what I thought, this is how I perceive it.

AmD - well respected and good tuners but not necessarily the most bhp/torque, but a safe increase. Also, the OneClick is extremely cheap at the moment ( link to thread would be nice  ).

REVO - With SP2 definately worth it, and im sure they get an extra 5 bhp & 5 lb/ft of torque on average more than AmD as all REVO'd cars appear to be around 185 bhp whereas AmD tend to be 180 bhp. You'll need a remorgage to pay for it though.

JabbSport - For the most bhp/torque gains undoubtably the best, however i'd be concerned about the warranty issues & how "detectable" it is, especially if it's a custom remap on a RR, but still cheaper than REVO. 190+ bhp is achievable.

Not sure which of these remaps would respond best to other mods though, e.g. Milltek Sports Exhaust/Panel Filter and a Cupra 160PD Intake.

OK the figures that have been bantered about through AMD are a 40-45bhp increase but I am not 100% on that. As the standard fabia is around 145bhp anyway I would thought my car was pushin around 180-185bhp which is more than enough. I am very happy with the quick test I ran last night, didn't manage to get out of 3rd, some runs will be done this weekend with Rooboy.

Link to the group buy is here but hurry as it is closing soon

I found that feeding the power in to just over 2K rpm then the front doesnt lift, and then you can press the pedal, and its :Yikes:

Get some Eibachs and you'll significantly reduce the lifting and diving under acceleration and braking, which means you have better traction and can feed the power in earlier ;)

Well put chris :) give him the modding bug :) I think he also needs indicators in the wing mirrors, Octy alloys, WRC body kit etc etc :D

did anyone tell their insurance company about the uprgrade, or did you play dumb and if the worst happens you would swith the car back if you could

I hope EVERYONE tells their insurance company! If you don't, you aren't insured. Period. And if you get caught out, you will have major problems getting any sort of insurance thereafter - not just car.

Now now Dave ... the externals are just fine as they are.

I have done the morally right thing :D

Hehe, that is very true, however i think a WRC look kit would finish it off nicely. Would give it the presence the one click deserves :)

Carry the one click around at all times, and reset to normal if you have a prang :)

Liverpool Victoria on older policies dont apply a charge though.

P.S i know its not the correct thread, but FAQ man, how do i change the part where yours says FAQ man?

you have a PM.

Honest Steve here, I did tell my insurance an declared it 2 days before the job was done.

Agree with this.

I fyou do a RR then remap, whichever 1 you get, then to find the true increase, you should go back to the RR used before the map to see what is shown.

As it is more likely that the RR calibration will have very little if any variation. ( also depending on how ofter the RR is calibrated , is it the same people & equipment doing it )

Steve

Right I'm totally ignorant to all this jargon so I need a good bit of help from all you veterans.

What is the cost of one of these "one click" thingys. how do you install them ( does it have to be done at a garage?).

Do you need to upgrade other components on the car.

I thought Id bought an economical deisel motor, turns out its a wolf in sheeps clothing.

What difference does turning of the trac control make, apart from making me crash?

HELPPPPPPPPPP

There's a group buy thread somewhere for One-Clicks - around the

Excellently answered , thankyou

Bigger wheels will give more grip (assuming you wrap them in bigger tyres  ) but no cosmetic mods. Keep it subtle and stealthy! ;):D

I was looking into this. Was looking at 215/40/16's but found the tyre size rare so settled for the standard size.

Also with Liverpool Vic... when I called any upgrade was ok except an engine change.. no extra cost for re-map or alloys or bodykit .. and they were the cheapest quote I had!!! never been able to say those words about an insurance co before.:D

I see TopGear stock this size for the Conti SportContact2?
