Just driven a new Audi TT TDI quattro

Featured Replies

Drove it from Corley services M6 right back to Dartmoor. Base spec, but very nice with quattro and the 170hp 2.0 TDI engine. Can barely hear the engine inside the car and very refined. Loved a few of the features like the MFA which could be flicked to bring up a digital speedo readout. Liked the spoiler which came up out the boot at 70mph. Didn't like the washer jets which didn't appear effective at all. Liked the economy at 70mph. Radio was decent. Seats were comfy and looked good in a pale grey leather/alacantara blend.

Didn't like the £26k price tag, but then I didn't pay it, or for the diesel to get from the Midlands..... :D

I wouldnt like it coming up at 70mph, just confirms to Mr Plod what speed you were doing :p

Very nice cars aren't they?

Very tempted.......

A good friend of mines just bought 1 in a weird metallic green colour, not driven it yet but he's well happy with it , weird colour tho with grey wheels

Dad's is a kind of really dark blue with a flake in it. Looks black really until you see it against the sun or bright sky. I like it. Most of today though the colour was "road salt grey".....

devon.................your dad must be a trusting guy to lend it to you! one came past me today, a midnight blue colour, looked really nice, not sure about £26,000?

I've seen that colour on one in a showroom Jason, like you say looks really black in some lights.

I tried a TTS S-Tronic, I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed with it.

He is very trusting yes, especially considering the only insurance was my own 3rd party cover. ;)

His car is totally "base-spec" so has just 6 speed box, not even cruise control. Was an "ex-stock" I think they call it, which is why he got a fair discount on it - list price is a bit more than £26k from memory.

Will get loads of better pics when I give it the "treatment" later on in the spring. Letting Dad run it in then I'll seal it for the summer months.

Here it is when we parked up to walk the mutt (330D alongside) near home. It coped with the hill & ice very well indeed. :D

How does it effect the handling, having an enormous log of chocolate sticking out the top of it? :giggle:

It's a lot more fun in manual form, pluging it into second and feeling the turbo kick in, not quite the same with the DSG
