The New Citroen DS 3

Featured Replies

Hey,

So in the past i have had a few Citroens, well three a Xsara, C2 VTS and a C4 VTS and i loved them all and i thought in general i thought they were very good cars more so the C2 and C4 but anyway!

If i am right Citroen are now axing the C2 and possibly the C3 and replacing them with the NEW Citroen DS 3 (the return of teh DS range)

This is what it looks like:

Here are a few more pictures of it:

Personally i think it looks fantastic, so diffrent to most things on the road and i really love the LED DRL's  i also love all the curves

I have looked into these a bit and TBH the one i would get is the 150BHP version, however if i got one with all the spec that i wanted it would come to more than £16k which is a hell of alot for a small Citroen :wonder:

They say they have sold all of the allocated stock already! Have a look over at the DS 3 website and have some fun specing one up lol

Anyway let here what you all think

Cheers - Dave

I'd understood an additional model to the C3s, and liked it up until I saw the ch@v lights!

Ah fair enough, i dont really know what they are doing with the line up what i said was just a roumor i had heard a while ago  as for the DRL's i believe that at the moment they are optional?! In my opinion i don't think they look chavy as they are from factory and if i am right don't all cars from 2011 have to have DRL's by law?!

Cheers - Dave

I hope not, I'm already fed up with being dazzled by Audis, Fiat 500s etc.

i shouldnt imagine that they'll be cutting the C3 yet, they've only just launched the new shape, wouldnt of spent all the developement money if they were axing it

Not really my cup of tea (too 'bigmouthed'), and IMHO not so different from other cars as the 'DS' badge entails... the original DS, on the other hand, was really different when it came.

Also, minimum requisities for 'DS' ought to be gas-hydraulic suspension and a single-spoke steering wheel ;)

I love it - it's very nice and distinctive.

I too love it - its stunning.

Is the DS3 basically a sexed up version of the new C3?

Like you I've owned Citroens in the past and haven't been able to fault them really. The most recent and best was an 04 plate C2 GT and it was an amazing litle car. Me & the Mrs holidayed all over Europe in it and in the two years I owned it, there wasn't a single rattle, squeak, leak or issue of any sort. As much as I love the vRS, it has far more niggles than the C2 ever did. If Citroen did an equivalent of the vRS, I'd probably get one - as it stands, they don't do anything potent enough to tempt me away from the Octavia.

It still does not look as good as and nothing like this one:

The C6 HDi V6? 204 HP, torque 440Nm (324 lb/ft)... and gas hydraulic suspension! Looks great, too, but admittedly it's a bit expensive :p

Hear! Hear!

Yep I really like that (far better IMHO than the new Focus...). I've seen some piccies of one in black with the purple roof and it looked fantastic.

Not sure about the longevity though, although others here seem to think they are well screwed together...

Whilst Googling for a pic of an old DS, I came acrosss what Citroen should have made if they wanted a retro look.

They are from this forum Here  B)

I wonder if they are now going to remake the 2CV after the DS.

I quite like the look of the DS 3, just a shame it's French

Is it that you don't like the French people as a race, or are you implying that French build quality isn't up to scratch?

I like it...

I'm still not convinced about the shark fin, but it's certainly distinctive

Plus lights that steer with you, so you can see around the corners better :)

Personally I fancy a real DS, but I have to say while the C6 mentioned above might cost a bit new, I bet you can get a good deal on one second hand.

No, not for me :(

Looks too Jedwood for me.....

as mentioned above about 2cv, this will be following on from the very successful resurrection of other 60s cars, first to mind being the fiat 500 and look at that success

Fair enough.

+1 to the votes for a real "Goddess", and big kudos points to JimH for his find, which has me contemplating selling my Mum, my sis and a kidney to get one!
