About time :D

Sounds like a right dog, and a useful heads up to anyone else who might have been interested. I just can't understand how dealers hope to get on with an attitude like that.

I personally think you'd be better off paying slightly more and getting a facelift model (unless you don't like the facelift). I'm sure if you keep looking on the Skoda used site that others will come up with fewer miles, and also be a lot closer to you.

Good luck with the search

I had a similar problem with a local dealer.

They seem loathe to spend any money on 2nd hand cars until the deal has been done. I find this very odd. I was interested in one particular car but it had a few niggles e.g. wheels were curbed, tyres were worn, one was flat, the paintwork had a few swirls and scratches and the cambelt needed doing. The dealer said all these issues would be sorted if I bought the car. I went and found a better car from another dealer. That car was still unsold a year later. If however, the dealer had addressed these issues before marketing it, then I probably would have bought it on the spot. Weird, huh?

Alternative :-

Worcester

Pre-facelift but facelift interior - newer, less mile than 'the dog'

Thats sounds a much better car and a good spec.

Xenons, Columbus satnav, rear parking sensors and even a spare wheel!!

Why did you get rid of the A8 Roberto?

Buy a brand new one of DriveTheDeal - Will be the spec you want for not much more money. I got what i wanted for less than the ex demo's that they are trying to flog..

For the price that "LODERS" have that advertised for you can get this for a few quid more . . .

I doubt it has 4000 miles on it. Dealers have to keep demo's for 3 months before they can sell them. It says car is not available until 29th April, my bet is the garage has taken a guess at what the mileage will be by then.

Still a good price for a 2010 VRS CRemoticon-0148-yes.gif

You aint being too picky but excuse me if you think im being rude..........................why did you buy it if you not happy with it?? Had you already paid the money??(you do have 14 days to change your mind if i remeber right) Did you give it a thorough check? Possibly not if the seats were as bad as you say.

Im not having a go but you DO have to be picky whilst you are in the process of looking........dealers will try and get rid of the cars and customers have to be on their toes.

The dealer should give you compensation of some kind or a goodwill gesture......like fuel costs and you shouldnt have to accept low standards but in the real world they are trying to sell.

It took me months to find the right car and i haggled over everything and walked away from those i wasn't happy with.

I hope you get somthing back off em and have no more probs.

The OP didn't see the car, but put a deposit down based on the dealers description and then drove hundreds of miles to collect the car only to find it wasn't as described... He didn't buy it and is (rightly) annoyed that the dealer wasted his time and money

they have agreed to pay fuel costs of £75 but want a fuel reciept,i didnt get one,so im still trying without reciept

keeping you posted...

Walk away...You will always regret it otherwise.

You can reject the car and collect your deposit

There are other cars out there

they have agreed to pay fuel costs of £75 but want a fuel reciept,i didnt get one,so im still trying without reciept

They shouldn't need a receipt for £75.

Civil service mileage rate is 40p per mile, so for £75 you'd have only had to do 187.5 miles, and I should think you did more than that

I see that they still have the car up for sale.

http://www.skoda.net.r66.co.uk/carview.aspx?id=600788938

I get 40p per mile from work, however to claim it I need to provide a VAT reciept for fuel dated before the mileage claim.

Ask around a few friends/work colleagues and see if any of them have a reciept that they can let you have, I would just give them that if you dont have one.
