Oh dear! Don't understand how you can have a used car as your next company car though? To my knowledge company car schemes usually lease vehicles from new for a set period of time?

And what about the other issues Roberto flagged up earlier in the post? What are they doing about those? You've only mentioned the wheel and seat issue.

STONE CHIPS ON FRONT SHOWING PRIMER....DEALER SAID-MOST PEOPLE PREFERE CHIPS TO A TOUCH UP BLOB OF PAINT

REAR BUMPER HAD BEEN SRAYED LOOKED LIKE WITH A CAN....DEALER SAID IT HAD A SMALL REPAIR BY (BUMPER BLUNDERS)

TAILGATE WAS CRACKED AND RUSTY !! ...DEALER HAD NO COMMENT

LARGE SCRATCH ON TOP OF N/S/F WING...DEALER GOT HIS T-CUT OUT

The price is £16 grand???? I'd be more concerned about paying 3 grand too much than whether it has a scuffed bumper..

Willis Skoda have a 2009 CRTDI RS with 4000 miles for £14,200

Wish i had seen this yesterday

I just bought this car as my next company car

Is it not too late to pull out of the deal? Surely you have a 'cooling off' period in which you can change your mind when buying a car/entering into a contract with the dealer for the purchase etc???

If you are happy with the car considering the points raised here then fair enough.

Maybe if you can you should go and have another look at it baring in mind the info you have now read?

Crazy money, I paid £19k for my new FL with almost top spec.

They openly said about the tyre and wheel which are going to be sorted and I made sure that a clause was put in re the seat - i was told it was a stud that had caused it - slightly worried now - maybe i should have chosen the Saab

Nooooo, not a Saab, get another VRs from somewhere else :)

I just came out of a company Saab 9-3 into a VRs (admittedly the Saab was from low down in the range) and the difference is night and day between the two cars. VRs ride is not quite as comfortable, but much better handling and a better stereo for all those hours on the road...

I've just checked on Skoda UK's website

You can buy a brand new 2010 facelift vrs for £17,033 on the road.- Skoda pay the VAT if you buy before end March

Which means a second hand prefacelift vrs is worth about £13k maximum!!!

GUESS WHAT

RICHARD CLAPP HAS SEEN THIS POST AND WANTS TO SEE ME IN COURT OVER THE £75 FUEL COSTS

RICHARD since 2002 ive had the following cars

2003 AUDI RS6

2005 AUDI A6 3.0 TDI

2006 SKODA VRS FABIA

2005 SKODA SUPERB

2007 AUDI A6 3.0 TDI LE-MANS

2007 A8 3.0TDI SPORT

2008 R8

2008 A8 3.0TDI SPORT

I WANTED YOUR SKODA AS A STOP GAP CAR TILL THE NEW A8 WAS COMING OUT

THEN I WAS GOING TO GIVE IT MY GIRLFRIEND FOR A BIRTHDAY PRESSY

BUT I DIDNT BUY IT COS IT WAS RUBBISH

DO YOU REALLY THINK I NEED YOUR £75?

AND I DONT FINK SO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SO SORRY MR CLAPP YOUR CAR WAS CRAP

As the dealer selling this car, I thought it was only fair that I had my say.

Roberto1954 bought this car over the phone and quite rightly asked for a description of the vehicle. He was told that the car was in a good clean order for a used car. Opinions of what "good looks like" will always differ and our opinion is obviously different to Roberto1954's.

I would like to add responses to each of his concerns about the car.

"Stone chips on front showing primer" - Actual response was "you would not believe the amount of customers who do not want a few stone chips touched in as they sometimes can leave a blob" - these could have been touched in before leaving, so rectifiable.

"Rear bumper had been sprayed looked like with a can" - The car did indeed have a 6" scratch smart repaired along the top edge, however it does not look like it has been done with a can.

"tailgate was cracked and rusty" - a 5mm crack of paint along the lip underneath the vRS badge. We had not spotted this small mark, however it was again rectifiable.

"large scratch on top of n/s/f wing" - disappeared with a small amount of t-cut.

"a chunk of tyre missing" - not acceptable and should have been picked up before Roberto1954 came to collect - again though rectifiable before he left.

"Drivers seat looked like it had done 150,000 miles" - the bolster does have a small scuff on the upright - this from my experience is realatively common with the vRS, however if I had had the opportunity, I again would have offered to rectify this if it had become any worse over time.

"looked like a 25 stoner had been driving it" - As a previous driver I would like to add that I am actually only 24 1/2 stone.

"Am I too picky" - as I can quite clearly see from your responses, you think not, but again you are taking for granted Roberto1954's account of the experience.

Although Roberto1954 thinks the car was badly abused I certainly do not and if given the opportunity and time, could have rectified each and every one of his concerns. What I have learnt from this experience is that long distance selling will sometimes throw up the unexpected and every now and then someone will be dissappointed.

I think maybe now is the time to leave the matter to litigation, if that is what it is going to take to resolve ?

Edited by Brimma

I'm not defending anyones corner here as I have not seen the car but a few questions arise:

Stone Chips - Do you not think that this should have been stated over the phone - I for one would not expect more than a couple of stone chips on the front after 12k - I have 65k on mine and only have a couple

Rear Bumper - You have stated it had a 'smart repair' - You knew this so why not state on the phone?

Tailgate was cracked and rusty - You have not stated if it was rusty - from my experience of rust I would stay well clear...

Drivers seat - a small scuff?? if its that small how come Robert and the new buyer notice it and have it claused into contract? Again - should have notified over phone

I do not think these are 'picky' items to be honest at the price you are selling/sold car but it is more the fact that you hadn't been open and honest about the exact condition before he travelled the distance. I think it would be a gesture of goodwill to refund the £75 fuel costs and stand up on this forum and say so and admit your mistakes - people will respect you more for this.

I know that if I was in the buyers postion I would be fuming that these hadn't been stated to me over the phone

This has now just turned into a slanging match and Roberto - THERE IS NO NEED TO SHOUT - turn off your CAPS

It's useful to hear both sides of any issue, so thanks for taking the time to register and post your views Richard.

However, I'm left thinking that if these faults/issues were indeed rectifiable, why were they not attended to before the car went on sale? Surely presenting your used stock in the very best possible condition will help sales and customer confidence in your dealership?

And at the very least the above details should have been mentioned to any buyer over the phone, if you and your sales team were aware of them. The result being that both parties then have as much information as possible about the car, from which to make a decision on whether to proceed with any purchase.

I have to say, speaking from personal experience, that the faults listed are fairly extensive for a car of that age, mileage and value.
