The best engine sound must be from an Austin Rover V64V.

For those who don't know it, it's from a MG Metro 6R4.

Here is an old video where John Welsh expalains a 6r4 in rallycross. Please note, that Group B cars (a 6R4 and a RS200) still run in the British Championship and Laurence Gibson won the champinship in 2008 in his 6R4 and therefore ran GB1 last year.

Saw a Metro 6R4 replica with a RX-7 Rotary engine in the other week at a retro car meeting, that sounded rather delicious and went quite well for 2wd!

I love the sound from the 10 min film c'était un rendez-vous. However the camera car (Merc 450 SEL) is different to the sound that it makes, (a Ferrari 275 GTB is dubbed on it) This is the film where the car is driven through the streets of Paris at incredible speeds.

I also love opening titles of The Cannon Ball Run film, where the police chases 2 lases in a black Lamborghini Countach.
