If I can't sell it I might change my mind and go ahead but for now I want the cash back for it really.

After a 'quick' drive down some country roads tonight I do admit it would greatly benefit from it being put in..

OK.

After much debate and thought I've decided that I AM going to keep the diff and have it installed, but I'm not going to tackle it myself.

JabbaSport are kindly going to do it for me at a MUCH better rate than more local companies, at nearly half the price, which is 'awesome' ;)

June 24th...it'll be in!

I think that's the right decision, overall Harry emoticon-0148-yes.gif

I doubt you'll regret the decision once it's fitted emoticon-0103-cool.gif

I think so steve I think the k04 warrants it

I think that's it. Was my thinking and logic about it anyway. To fully enjoy and exploit the performance, the car deserves and warrants it emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Waaayhaaay  It may be a luxury item but, if you can afford it, you won't regret it! Take a short while to get the feel of it (easy!) then head down that country lane again...then again with the traction control off :p

It is a luxury item, but at this level of tune I think it becomes more of a necessity.

The question is do I have water/meth installed whilst I'm at Jabba? :p

Yes. Saves you the cost of going back again. Simples.

It would be rude not to.....

Hahaha, I was thinking about that for myself on the drive in this morning...this has got to stop!

Hehe it's very tempting. Should take it upto 370bhp :D

Why not do it right & whack a second turbo on there... :)

  • Author

Doing it right would be to ditch the k04 for a gt3076R

wmi @ jabba = extortioate cost. i now where you can get the devils on kit supplied and fitted for about half the price of jabbas snow perfomance

  • Author

Where's that then Sy? What gains can be had from the kit? I was going on the assumption of 30bhp with an adjusted map to suit.

It's June 24th, Harry! So what's the story? You got your Quaife fitted??

It's June 24th, Harry!

:o :wonder:  .......

The excitement is so huge that's it's equal to one month's worth of time travel! ;)

That must be what it is...either that or I'm just going senile! :S

Haha. I wish it were the 24th! Won't be long though.

How are you finding your car with it fitted now you've had it a few weeks?

  • Author

Looks like it might be in sooner than I thought...June 22nd :)

Pretty good, Harry. I read someone saying that the Quaife kicked in before the traction control did however, that has not been my experience - the difference may be that I don't have the best rubber on the wheels at the moment so that's my next purchase....no point spending that kind of money on a Quaife to get traction if the tyres could be better! On the plus side, they're not the worst tyres either so a press of the ESP button when I plan to give it the beans and it is a bunch of fun!

PS - the downside is that the temptation is much greater to drive like a hooligan to feel that it's there as you wouldn't know it otherwise.

The Quaife kicks in before the traction control on my Fabia VRS.

With just under 270bhp I get a brief bit of TC in first and then in 2nd onwards I get no TC at all. It just goes...

That's running on Toyo T888 tyres for road use.
