Any 04 plates had a service yet?

Featured Replies

did you get a service warning light and if so what mileage did you get the warning? did you also receive a count down in miles when the service is due?

Furby vRSes are on set service intervals, so I'm not sure you'll get a warning... :( Mind you, they beep at just about every available opportunity, so I wouldn't be surprised if I were proved wrong... ;)

It'll be expecting an oil change at 15,000 Km, so the trip computer will display "OIL" after 9320 miles (=15000 km) or so. The flashing OIL message goes away after the ignition has been on for a couple of minutes.

Distances in the Octavia Service Schedule have been 'Anglicised'. 15,000 km is 10,000 miles; 30,000 km is 20,000 miles; 60,000 km is 40,000 miles and so on. I would be surprised if the same does not apply to the Fabia and Superb.

OK, this didn't happen to me, I've rolled past 10,000 miles. time to phone the dealer me thinks.

IIRC fabias dont have a service function... ive done over 30k and never seen the service light :)

Mines an 04 and never had any light come on.

You talking Octy or toy car?

My Octy is a late 53 plate (27/2/04). It is on variable servicing. Service warning came on at 23,500 miles. Without track (ab)use it should be about 30-35k before it needs doing.

Scratch that last reply. Fabias are fixed servicing and need to be done at 10k, you may not get a warning come up until about 17k (which my old RS Octy did).

i have a 53 plate fabia and my service light came on the end of oct, i have on done 5000 miles in my car and it only a year old the end of nov, the service light came on 2 mths early as it couldnt have been rest at the pdi check,

Yes I'm an 04 and no OIL message appearing on the trip mileometer at all. The service interval is not set up correctly according to the dealer at the garage who did it when I took the car in for the 10k.

If you study the manual you can set it up yourself, but I'd let them do it.

Anyway if you're nearing a 10,000 miles interval in the Fabia it's time for a service. The service warning is pretty immaterial for fixed. Are shipping any Fabias for variable yet - presume this will happen at some point?

I took mine in at 10k and and i was told that i was set on KM's so the light hadnt come on as the clock was in miles, so should have come on at about 15k miles. However ive been assured that the device is now set to come on at about 20-22k for the 20k service im at 21500 and nothing yet, this would suggest that it has got the function that comes on when a service is needed. Ill wait till 23500 then if no light has come on ill take it in i think!

My 2001 Fabia has a service light. Came on the morning I rolled into the garage forecourt for my 60k service ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

I didnt get a light on mine.

I got a spanner under the mile counter and INSP flashing.

After service it cleared, obviously.

Exact same happened to me, called the dealer at 9000 miles to check prices etc, and asked about the service light, they said its an oil change service at 10'000 and I shouldnt worry about it until the light comes on.

10'000 miles come and went but no light. I thought it might of been a variable service thing, but when I reached 11'500 and still no light I looked into it further and found Fabias are all fixed servicing. Spoke to the dealer again who advised that what can somtimes happen is this...

When setup at factory they should be set for 12'000 mile service intervals. However, you can have fixed longer term servicing (20'000 mile I think), which is a setting they can put on for you and means u have to use long-life oil which is expensive and not recommended as all the **** sitting in your engine isnt good for it. They said thats what had happend to mine.

It was 12'500 miles before I got the service done, but they assured me this wouldn't effect the warranty, and have set the service intervals back to 12'000 as they should be.

I imagine I'm not the only one to have the same thing happen...

yer warning light came on around 10100 miles cost me 114 first service today cheers doggy

12,000 came and went without any service indicator, got it serviced anyway now reached 15,000 and guess what, the service oil indicator came on, i think the handbook is wrong and service is required at 15,000 and not 12

Hope this helps

I have an 04 fabia VRS and I was told that the servicing is fixed at 10,000 miles. So I took it in at 10k never seen a service light or oil indicator I thaught this was for the octy? The general Briskoda info and the dealers have said it is fixed at 10k, and the it uses the PD long life oil as standard
