Is this what people start doing when they are running out of things to Mod? :)

yup :)

This car has gone the whole nine yards and gone for the 'windscreen delete' mod

If you did this to your front screen as well Nick you wouldn't even have to buy any Rain-X thereby saving a little bit of money

  • Leave it along for 2 reasons. 1. The badge is there to show that their barry'd up shed has been kicked around by a Skoda, 2. The rear wiper means you get a good view of their faces as they cry over

Other advantages too. MPG will be better as aircon isnt required. Easy access to the car interior, and you get some nice fresh air while driving your car.

Might go do this during my lunch break ;)

Go for it! Removing your own windscreen by force is sooooo satisfying. Blanket on bonnet, sit in car, kick that sucker out.

Also means you can remove the aircon, thus saving more weight :)

Got to be way more of a weight saving than just removing the wiper, wiper motor and badges. :giggle:

Only thing i would do is apply rainx or similar. As if it's been standing overnight, the rain can gather.

But as soon as you move, the water rolls off.

Just do it !!

Is it the same as the Mk1 where are you need is a 25mm (or there abouts) rubber grommet to go through the glass ?

I have to reverse out of a drive..Visibilty on wet/frost mornings is essential for me

Naked asses....nice on women, but terrible on cars....always leave badges alone, that's my opinion...w

Hmm, replace the rear wiper with a rubber 'bung'...much more attractive obviously :dull:

100% agree with other posts that rear wiper is essential on an estate.

Here was mine with said rubber "bung".

Wouldn't say that it was sore on the eye ??

That's the ugliest rubber bung I've seen in a long time.

Why not mod your car and fit a rear wiper!

The car or the wiper? ;)

Car - Wiper is still in the garage (albeit broken) :giggle:

My hatch is rainx-ed and indeed stays clear when rattling along. But wiper definitely needed in slow or stop- going mode.

Sort of post hijack (never done that before.... haha). I have aquapel at home but am a little reticent to put it on the rear window as ti gets hot from the heater. Is this something to be concerned about or does it make little difference to rain treatments.

What's the best way to remove the rear badge?

I just tried mine out of curiosity and almost ripped my thumbnail off.

They ain't half stuck on.

What's the best way. And don't say a knife as I know that isn't.

If you can, a heatgun (not too close to paint though)

Or a hairdryer, just heat it up enough for it to be easily pulled away, once it's started it's fine.

Then a little Tar/Glue remover to soften any leftover glue, wipe clean, little polish & wax and you're on a winner :)

Have you tried inflicting maximum violence? emoticon-0100-smile.gif

I think someone on here said they used dental floss in one post I read, sawing motion i'd guess.

Get the rear wiper off! For an estate car you need it, but for the hatch you don't. Well not on the Mk1 anyway! When driving the rain never touches the rear window on a Mk1 hatch.

It also looks better :p

Here's mine gone:

I've been told that my dealer is goign to use fishing line to take the Octavia badge off the vRS when i get it. After that they will just polish out any remaining marks

I need to recheck mine when I leave work, but I am sure the badge is recessed into the boot, so removing it would look like it had fallen off as there will be a circular indent.

the skoda badge is, the other two aren't

I don't think PE4 will work very well. Yes it will remove it, along with the rear 3/4 of the car

Carl

Well i just did mine.
