All-New Jetta V - First Official Photos

Featured Replies

Nice wheels! Rear looks like the new BMW 3 series.

Typical Golf/Audi/Seat/Skoda front end but still nice.

I think it looks MUCH better than the golf, not so upright and boxy

Very tidy.

Looks good.

Talking of new VAG cars , did anyone see the new seat on 5th gear this week?

Don't like it.

Old Bora at least looked like a different car rather this Golf with a boot look.

Or Honda Accord with a Golf's nose.

Nice looking car. I used to have a Jetta GTI 16v - rapid motor. Why VW keep changing the name - first Vento, then Bora - I don't know

Hmmmm..........very Toyota Avensis in profile me thinks.

Needs bigger wheels......looks quite heavy towards the rear.

Nice all the same though.

Have they changed the name? I thought they were Jetta for the American market, but maybe I'm wrong. Bora was a little bit of a stupid name in my opinion.

The first Jetta was a Jetta in Europe. It was changed to Vento when the Mk 3 came along and became Bora for the Mk 4. I think

Must agree there. After all those awful Jettas they got rid of the Golf-with-a-boot look with the first Bora. But we're back to old form, especially in the picture showing the front/side view.

Last "Jetta" was Jetta in the States and seeing as Vortex is a US site, I guess Jetta is the name going to be used again.

I think VW like to use air/wind associated names apparently.......I guess "Flatulence" and "Fart" will be along soon. ;):D

I'm not convinced - Looks like a beemer from the back and a Citroen C5 from the side.

If they can make it reliable i might buy another,

Can you tell why i might be changing alligences.....

It definitely needs bigger wheels, and I find the whole effect looks 'heavy'.

New Jetta looks nice!

The Bora monicker was stolen from Maserati who named the lovely 4.7 Bora after a fast hot wind that blows across the deserts. I don't suppose the Maserati ever made it past the first Cactus however...

Vento was a stupid name in my humble opinion...

Old thread but needed a reference to the Jetta

People are officially mental. What car publish road test on Jetta and octy vRS..(Nov 2005 issue)

Interiors err absolutely identical apart from one thing.vRS's so much nicer.

Price? Jetta2.0T

Some people buy a badge instead of a car, & think they're getting something better.

More than three grand for a VW badge instead of a Skoda one...

Yep , people will pay that.

Someone I work with is looking for a new company car and would much rather have a leon 2.0t sport (185bhp) rather than the higher specced octavia vrs just because of teh badge.

The front is all Golf, no doubt, and the rear is in NO WAY like a Beemer 3, I don't know what car you came across Turbostream but it is not a 3-series rear end in anyway....over all, I don't like it myself. That kind of front doesn't suit a sedan and it looks overall like an Accord (the version we get here).

Looks good if you like jelly moulds.

Saw one in the flesh 3 weeks ago. UK Plates visiting all the Irish dealers.

I really like it - looks classy and kind of fresh too. Its a baby Passat!

I loved the old Bora. :o
