What option did you add?

Build week came forward?

Didn't have a build week before. Added xenons and it instantly gave a build week.

My brother and I each ordered vRS estates on 30th January 2010; mine was scheduled for build in week 10 and my brother's in week 11. Mine was built on the Thursday of week 10 (i.e. 11 March) and my brother's the Monday of week 11 (i.e. 15 March) - so mine was just under six weeks to build date and my brother's just over six weeks. Both are now en route and the dealer tells me mine is in UK. Hoping to collect at Easter

Thats worrying - mine was built on the 8th and haven't heard anything since....I was hoping to pick mine up next weekend...

Ordered last week. Today given build week 16 and delivery week 20. Delighted! (1.4TSi Elegance Estate)

Hmmmmm, it must be your personal charm then. I ordered mine (1.4TSI DSG hatch) more than a month ago, 16 of Feb to be exact, and was also given wk15 (or 16) for a build. INTERESTING. I either don't understand how the spots are allocated or you were lucky and your car was placed in the system instead of somebody else's order that was cancelled. Which i don't think is true and fair, because if an order is cancelled, other cars already in waiting line should be shifted and built earlier. Explanation, anyone?

Anyway, I;m not jealous and I wish you "meet and greet" your new shiny car as soon as possible. It's the system Czech factory runs that concerns me.

Unfortunately the cars aren't built on a first come first served basis. They have to be built at a time when all the parts are available. This ensures that the production line runs continuously and efficiently rather than waiting for parts to arrive to fit to part built vehicles

The Dealer told me they already had some cars on order for stock and he converted one of these to a customer order (me) - timing just happened to be right. So, no queue jumping, just lucky!!

I ordered a VRS 170CR DSG hatch in Black on the 15th of Feb and have not been given a build week i've just been told to expect it late April / first week of May?? That would make it a 10/11 week delivery from order, does this sound correct?

Elegance orders in Ireland are now experiencing longer order to delivery times, due to the fact that there is a shortage of bolero radios at present, so it is about 15 weeks from order to delivery, if the dealer will actually take an order for an elegance spec.

Duck's Hoop - You're not the only one! I've been waiting five weeks and have yet to get a build week from the dealer. They just tell me that I should hear something by week 6 since order! It must be an Irish thing.

JonnB - I hope to God my order hasn't fallen behind too. Ordered 22nd of Feb so I hope to God they have enough Boleros to get through my car.

I think I may phone my dealership tomorrow; though I doubt they'll have any good news for me.

Shortage of Boleros ?

Sounds daft when they know how many cars they'll need to produce for the next 16 weeks in advance...

I agree Gorebrush - Wondering how such a thing could happen...!

Is there a source for this info?

When I was looking for a new vRS at my local dealer, I asked him why the lead time on factory orders was so long. His explanation was that there was a shortage of Bolero units - the company that is contracted to supply this unit to Skoda simply cannot keep up with demand from all the VAG cars being built with it! He blamed the current spike in demand on the scrappage/VAT offers. Sounds too simple, but then nothing would surprise me!

Ah - perhaps I was thinking about it from the wrong angle - are we saying that the long lead times are BECAUSE of the Bolero shortage?

Fair point I suppose!

Has anybody ordered a vRS in the last couple of weeks and got their provisional build weeks yet?. I ordered mine last week and have been given a provisional build date of week 21. It just seems a bit of a long wait so i wanted to see if anyone else had similar lead times

My was ordered this week through my lease company and they have given me a delivery date of 26/07/10 a huge 16 weeks so dont hold your breath.

Oredered my Scout on 5'th of March and dealer just informed me of build week 16, with delivery mid May.

Order for Octavia vRS hatch placed 24.3.10, build week is 18. Ordered through local Potteries main dealer.

When I ordered an L&K 1.8 TSi DSG estate early last October the dealer told me it would be built the following week, however it still had not been built by mid November. SUK told me this was because they collated orders and waited until they had a batch of 20 - 24 L&Ks before placing an order on the factory. I don't know if this applies to other models as well. My car arrived first week in January.

I ordered an Octavia Scout 1.8 TSI a week before you, and my build is week 15 (which is start 12th April).Dealer said it would be here end of April 1st week in May depends on ship from Germany toTyne .

Sounds about right then, bit annoyed i've not been given a build week. I was going to change the colour and add some options but they said it would delay it by another 6 weeks so I left the ordered as it is.
