The waiting is over.......

Featured Replies

I ordered my vRS back in September, and now exactly 80 days later I've just picked it up from the dealer. :) Black Magic, 3rd rear headrest, ESP, and Side Airbags. Fantastic, AND, I'm pleased to say that I have the rattle in the gearstick, so I know it's a good one!!!!

Just driven back from the dealers, through rain, sleet, mud, and Saturday afternoon shoppers, so you can imagine how clean the paintwork is now. When the rain stops, I'll be fitting my MSD grill that I've been looking at for what seems like months now. Anyone know what TORX size is required for this?

What a cracking car, I'm absolutely chuffed to bits!

Hehe. (Almost) makes the wait worthwhile

You can now change your avatar description bit :D

Happy driving :)

LOL, the next time I go outside will be to wash it, after that I'll take a picture for my new avatar!

Nice one, never have I loved a piece of metal on wheels as I do my fab  ....and congrats on the gearstick rattle, mine somehow wouldn't feel right without it :)

Nice one, seems the gear stick rattle is quite common, I PDI'd a new one this week that was doing the same, couldnt seem to nail what was causing it though.

Customer wasnt bothered about the noise so took it anyhow and is keeping an eye on it, seems to be quite a popular belief that after a few thousand miles they tend to stop it.

Noticed also that they now have a new engine code, has changed from an ASZ engine (like mine) to something else, wonder whats different? (if anything).

The rattle disappears if you push the gear stick toward the gate of 3rd, but it will probably disappear altogether after a few thousand files on it.

Engine code for mine is stilll ASZ & the built date was end of Oct '04.

That's right, I remember I was really quite jealous :)

If I had not had ESP, then I would have had it 2 weeks ago. I also have cruise, which I don't think I mentioned earlier. The dealer told me that Fabia vRS's are literally flying out the door, they just can't get enough of them, so I guess 10 weeks is about right for a factory order.

That's probably stuck accelerators.

I order my vRS on Wednesday and have been told delivery in March. 1st week of March would make it 15 weeks :(

Also I heard that Skoda's Xmas factory shutdown is 1 month  Has anyone told them people are ordering these cars...??!!

As I work for a very ( :)) well known German car manufacturer based in MK, and knowing how they all disappear for a 4 week holiday, this would not surprise me.

Trust me, it's worth the wait (even though I only have 40 miles on the clock so far).

Just fitted my MSD grill today, an easy task, and visually impressive, it looks far more aggressive. One tip for you, run the screws through the metal clips before you attempt to attach the grill to the car. If you don't do this, then the clips tend to distort and the screws can't be tightened up, rather frustrating when the 8th clip distorts  as you have to take it all to bits again. For

Hmmm, unless I'm mistaken isnt Mercedes based out of Milk'n'Beans?

On the subject of christmas closing times at the factory I was told by my dealer that the close down was for 2 weeks from the 20th.

Ordered my furby vrs last week in oct and as of sat is still on for early jan delivery. If they haven't built it before the break my christmas is going to be an unhappy one :(

So is Skoda.

Ey?? We have a Mercedes and a Skoda in Milk'n'Beans

still got the concrete cows?

Yeah, then they vanished one day and re-appeared at the hockey stadium 2 weeks later

Tsk, dealers eh?! I have to admit I was quite taken aback when being told Skoda had a 4 week Xmas. I am in the car industry and that certainly seems a long time to me!

But whatever, although March is a long time at least I will be in line for an '05 plate vRS. Still, I hope you get yours in Jan fossie, as then you can tell us all how great the new car experience is for you. Just enough to get me salivating in anticipation. Hmm, must calm down!

What colour/spec did you go for?
