Why, there is so many better cars out there

Other than avoiding the central London Con Tax and appeasing environ mentalists, there is nothing to recommend the Pious, even if you get one with fully working throttle and brakes. ;)

If it happened, it would be a company vehicle where it then makes perfect sense. I am in no way an eco warrior, but the Pious 3 is supposed to be ok to drive, there is no RFL and as a company vehicle it costs peanuts in tax / P911D.

I have the bike for fun, and am working on the fact that the cash I get for the Superb can go into paying a chunk off the Mortgage and maybe pick up an MX5 for the odd track day and a bit of fun.

I would not be leasing one to save the world, it would be to keep cash in my pocket and out of Darlings. They are giving me one for 6 hours to play with, or longer if I want it.

Why not get a Golf BlueMotion, cheaper to buy, virtually same CO2 (92-Prius, 99-Golf)

No DSG option on the Bluemotion, I need an Auto.

Being serious for a minute Tony (now there's a novelty I hear you cry)

My boss had a Prius for a short while, and it gave nowhere near the quoted 65mpg in general running, and he was pretty disappointed with it.

I have to say it makes more sense probably in your situation as a company vehicle, which you hand back at the end of the lease.

Still not the sort of vehicle you'd see in Reservoir Dogs though

Golf 1.6TDi CR105 SE BlueMotion DSG - there you go ;)

What about the Honda?

Not sure how it stacks up in comparison from a money perspective but notionally I think I would prefer it.

It's not on the VW site.

Just to set the record straight, I am only looking at this so that I can do a bit of a finance re-shuffle after finally recovering from some heavy losses by clients going under over the last 18 months. I am not an eco warrior and have always detested the Pious.

But after a review with my bean counter, who is a top bloke, we discussed this sort of thing as an option. It's only something to plod to work in, on a Friday getting home from wherever I am rarely see's the speedo venture beyond 60mph anyway.

If it drives like the old Pious then I will be scarpering .... big style, I am going into it with a slightly "closed" perspective that I will hate it after driving it, but you never know? Toyota blokey was confident that the Gen 3 with the T-Spirit spec is a world away from the Gen 2.

It's all purely down to finances, why spend my own money when I can spend my businesses money? It's just an exercise in cost trimming and I whatever I lease (if anything) it's just a tool, the fun comes at the weekend with the bike, and possibly a bit of a hairdressing wagon :)

Hmmmm, well all I can say is your design and colour scheme are holding out well, not looking dated at all, I may have to buy it back :)
