PEEPS WHO HAVE RECENTLY TAKEN DELIVERY

Featured Replies

Hi,

I ordered my Yeti a few weeks ago. Was just wondering from order to delivery, how long did you guys and gals have to wait.

Not that im impatient at all. :giggle:

Just getting a little concerned, as have been reading back through some of the topics and expected delivery times appear to be put back all the time.

Was wondering who has so far had to wait the longest.

I know it will be worth the wait, but i would actually like it before christmas 2010 :o

Mine was delivered a week before Christmas, 8 weeks after the order. Then it arrived directly by train - no transshipment across water.

Ummmmm . I think I had better find something to do with my time, as I feel I maybe waiting a while.

FocusZtec....OMG ordered first week in January and still waiting till end of April. Is it coming gold plated...... You must be a very very patient man or senile (no offense), so that you can forget now when you actually ordered it. So when it finally does arrive, you will have forgotten how long you waited. Patience of a saint i`d say... (Bit disappointed i couldnt add smiley face with Halo overhead.)

Forget that, found one. this is for you FocusZtec

Ordered last week of December.

STILL haven't got it though it is somewhere between Grimsby and the East Midlands.

Hope to have it next week. Or the week after.........

Ordered Saturday 09/01/10, collection all being well this Saturday 03/04/10.

Ordered 10th December, still waiting 16 weeks later, but due soon :( I think a lot depends on what engine/model combination you order.

Ordered 10th February has left factory today, on way to shipyard in Germany as I type.

Ordered 19th January, build last week and currently at Emden waiting for its cruise to the UK. Expect to collect in around two weeks from now.

Mine was ordered yesterday and is also at Emden! They can keep each other company on the way over

Simon

quite some variation in delivery times here.

mine ordered on 18th Dec, built last week, arriving mid April.

I think ordering a sunroof caused a delay with mine :'(

Depends if the car is a genuine factory order or not, sometimes we can get cars that are already in the pipeline so to speak.

Broke the cam belt on my Renault Scenic 1.6 on Sunday 21st March,

went to dealer on Tuesday 23rd March,

brought the salesman un-registered 2.0 140 bhp SE in blue with sun roof since it was the colour she wanted, it had the sun roof she wanted and the engine I wanted. It also had the park assist we didn't want, but the front sensors are great.

Had a tow bar fitted, and collected it Tuesday 30th March.

So to re-cap, ordered and collected in 8 days, but I was VERY LUCKY the car was there with the spec we wanted.

I firmly believe that everything comes to those that wait and the waiting and build up to something is sometimes just as enjoyable! I think its proven that adding the panormic roof to the options list adds time as JonA previously posted that Skoda only have the capability of producing 100 of these a week iirc (due to the special bonding required at the factory).

Only three more weeks to go now. :)

Hi all (first post)

Ordered a 110 SE with no fancy option on the 10th Feb - After originally being told 8 weeks, I checked this week to see what was happening. Now being told it'll be the start of June!! Am I being fobbed off? :wonder:

I'm guessing dealers place orders without a sale in order to secure a build slot - then revise the order to suit when a sale is secured, am I right?

Yes you are correct octy888 SkodaUK give us quotas that we have to order x amount of cars broken down my model. We can also change the spec of the car to a point, but they cap us on time. If it's within a certain number of weeks until build they won't allow us to change anything.

Hi James,

I take it SUK order cars for stock besides those they register? I know my first order that was not built to spec stayed at Grimsby (dealer rejected it I think), until I believe another forum member selected her from a list of available Yeti's in the UK.

Regards,

TP

I tried to order a 170 CR Elegance 10 days ago, nothing special on the spec, but then was told that anticipated delivery date would be late June. (est 20 weeks)

So, i've agreed to take a 160TSi Elegance instead that "just happens" to be pre-registered and sitting in the dealer's showroom, I'm told it has just 5 miles on the clock (though i cant check as it's battery is flat). I'm collecting it next Thursday, just 7 days from agreeing to buy. They are fitting a tow bar & given that the Bank Holiday interveneds, I'm happy with that.

I'm told that Skoda planned UK sales of just 2500 Yetis in the first year, but took that many orders in the first 4 months. The factory (allegedly) cannot increase RHD production because the vehicle is also exceeding planned saled in LHD markets too. It seems that if we were a LHD country, Skoda would have the option to transfer to us vehicles originally intended for mainland Europe. I can accept that I guess.

Having said all that, why on earth is Skoda advertising the car so frequently on TV? Even more surprising when there are surplus Octavias and Fabias in the UK. I would have thought it more sensible to change the adverts to promote a car that is more readily available.

Very strange! :S

You made a very wise decision, if i were a private buyer i would 100% buy a demo or pre-registered vehicle. Some people are expecting dealers to give big discounts on new Yeti's

With demand for RHD (and LHD) this high - it's hard to see how OR why there is any incentive to do so. As you said they only planned to sell 2500 Yeti's in the first year - and by all accounts they'll sell more like 20,000 at this rate.
