Which vRS is nicer?

Featured Replies

I recently bought an 05 fabia vrs with 80k on the clock fsh, all motorway miles etc. but its in mint condition and drives as well as a one i drove with 40k on the clock

any way my mate bought the limited edition vrs on an 07 plate with 45k on the clock

i paid 5500 he paid 8500

i know its limited edition and has cruise control and a cd changer, which eats cds every time you hit a bump and the leather interior but i dont think its £3k more car

i prefer his blue exterior to my silver one, but the black leather along with the black roof lining makes it look awfully dark inside and i much prefer the interior of the standard vrs

Just wondering what you all thought on this as most the limited edition ones i have seen cost a fair bit more than equivalent(ish) standard vrs and i dont think they are worth the extra money

looking forward to your comments

2 years of difference and all the extras is easily worth £3k.

LE every time. And i've had two vrs with both interiors, and the dark is much, much nicer.

Well the reason it was 3k more its that its 2 years newer with half the miles. Not thats its a SE. My mate also has one, i love it, but thats because he has made it his car, and its been his from new. If it were me, i`d look for one with the options i wanted, leather can be added easy enough, however, xenons and other options will be much more expensive and difficult. Although the colour is gorgeous, "woodford blue" as my mrs has dubbed it after my mate who`s car it is lol.

Matt

You prefer yours, and your mate prefers his. So everyones happy

Personally I'd rather have a red one with black leather, cruise and parking sensors..... ;)

Just get the extras you want and fit them. I was desperate to have cruise control so I bought a kit direct from Skoda £65 and fitted it myself. I personally

like the idea of leather interior which will probably be next, trying to get them though is another question they are like rocking horse **** to get hold of.

it already had Xenons which are really great having never had them before, I must say that the visibility is just great.

Hope this helps, Andy.

trouble is your 5500 vrs is still worth 5500,where as the se will allways be worth much more,8500 is cheap for one as most still seem to be north of 10k!!!!

I have had 3 fabia vrs's and the se was easily the best, factory leather was top quality and race blue for a fabia is easily the best colour

You can get leather seats from the supplier on here at a good price around £900, Plus your mates care is two years younger and 40k miles less

The se is holding its price on trade and purchase

So it is what you wish, If you are happy with what you have and the price NO PROBLEM

National

I had the chance of an SE or standard when I bought mine a year and a half ago. Went for the SE as I love leather interiors, and the Race Blue colour was a must have for me. OK it cost a pretty penny but money well spent for me. :smirk:

I think that at the end of a production run for a particular model, there will be a lot of stock to get rid of ??

One way is to invent a 'Limited Edition' model, charge more than usual to cover some loss of revenue with the extra kit provided, and bring surplus stock numbers down??

The 'Limited Edition' Fabia VRS had £2000 worth of extra bits of kit on it compared to the standard Fabia VRS, BUT it was being sold for £13,500, a full £2000 more, than the standard Fabia VRS.??

Once the car is drove off the forecourt its already lost £2000 and prices are artificially propped up but customer demand??

Form your own opinions, but car manufacturers are in business, you dont get nowt for nowt. LOL

Skoda dealer quoted this price, in 2006, which scared me off, and didn't pursue the matter further.

Hung onto my standard 2005 VRS, still drives like a dream, and still puts a smile on my old wrinkled face. LOL

it was actually 12300 quid and had options on it that were not available on the normal vrs, sales were never dwindling on the vrs,i actually think they took it out of production too soon if anything and have lost a lot of sales because of the simple fact that 3 years later there is still no replacment on sale.

My budget wouln't allow me to get the SE, but if it did I would have one. Love the colour and the exclusivity that comes with it. Also the standard seats are a pain in the arse to keep clean so leather would have been 'cool' although not sure the wife would have gone for them :giggle: as she says they are too cold in the winter - winge winge winge

My fabia is great for what I want and needed at the time, but I would say there is always something nicer. If I had enough I would have the Octavia VRS diesel estate but I don't so its tough

I love my silver Vrs but if I could I'd swap it for an SE in a heartbeat!

I love the colour, leather seats, etc, etc and I KNOW I could get leather for mine, cruise, etc but I wouldn't, I'd rather have it on the car already if you know what I mean!

That's correct, my old man had a 53 vRS and I remember a 'flyer' coming through the letter box from the dealer

advertising the forthcoming SE, in 2006, quoted on flyer you get around £2000 of extras for an extra £700 or there-abouts

on a standard one. I did like the look of the SE on the flyer though ;)

They're both equally brilliant cars, just one is blue and one is silver!

The latter will have a BLT engine and more poke however... I think as yours is 05 it'll have the earlier ASZ engine but same gearbox ratio's.

I'd have either but with leather preferably - or another seat cover possibly! :giggle:

Would like it even more if it actually had cruise control, cd changer and callipers that were proper red ones

and not just green ones painted red and now flaking off :rofl: :'(

Engine code, BLT comes with extra stutter and is Euro iv

Engine code, BLT comes with extra stutter and is Euro iv

But the same power output?

Is Euro IV the emissions? Does it produce less? Would it be cheaper to tax as a result?

yes,yes,yes (but not sure what),no

on paper the output is the same, but the asz engined cars seem to put out about 140bhp where the blt engined cars give about 155bhp on the same rollers on the same day

Hey i would go with the 05 plate and with the 3 grand you saved paint it race blue!! :giggle:

Seriously though i myself have an 06 plate vrs, and when i got it, it had 13000 on the clock. My mother has an 07 LE (No247 - Which is the car photographed for the brochure) and when she got it it had 23000 miles on it. She paid £2500 more than i did and the only things different were the tinted windows and the leather.

After driving both can firmly say that i prefer mine as on cold days in the LE my balls promptly shot up to my throat when i sat down on the freezing leather. Similarly when i got in it on a hot day i could literally feel and smell my arsehole frying!!:rofl:

The thing with the leather is that when you are driving the car hard you tend to slide about more, plus the seats don't seem to "hug" you as much!! (Sounds gay i know)

So bottom line is get yours mapped and fly past him, he won't be pleased!

Then invite him back to your house for some beers and a movie on the huge 60inch plasma tv that you could afford cos you didn't buy an LE!!!!:rofl::rofl:

What this brochure...
