Yes, and it's nearly £17k!

Price of new Fabia vRS announced on Czech website today.

http://news.auto.cz/cesky-trh/skoda-fabia-combi-rs.html

However price is in Czech crowns and probably bears little relationship to the UK price. This might mean we are closer to a UK price.

For those wishing to get a fright, you can do the sums yourself!

Google's Language tools does a reasonable Czech to English translation.

Need to do some real maths here, Price up the Octy vRS in Czech currency & convert to UK £, & see what difference is between them, then you can roughly see what a more realistic price will be given that the price quoted on this site makes the Fabia come out @ around £17 K.

In regards to the Fiesta it is well known that Ford placed themselves in a difficult position by putting up their prices four times last year in response to the weak Euro whereas others left alone so like for like Fords cost silly money against their rivals. However you can haggle big discounts on a Ford which, as said, would get you the Fiesta for £14k. I don't know if the Skoda dealers would offer that kind of discount but it is too dear, eapecially as Local dealer has an Octy VRS Diesel with drlivery miles for £16k.

I'm not liking the sound of this.................it's quite possible I'll be looking elsewhere for a new car, if they don't price it low enough :(

Just got the brochures through from the Czech Republic (much more detailed than the Uk price list thing) and the estate looks great I must admit.

Do you have a link for them?

Does seem that it will be 16.500+ I think for what its worth most people who want the new TSI, DSG packaged hot hatches will buy ether the ibiza or the new polo, which looks fantastic!

Plus what it seems some extra's are covered in the other two cars, e.g. paddle shift on the steering wheel

Bingo email: [email protected] and ask for the vrs catalogue in English saying the UK literature not out yet. Alternatively there is a PDF on the Fabia page on www.skoda-auto.com.

I think the best new Fabia is the 1.2 TSI 105 bhp tbh. Don't need 180bhp and much better value.

Cheers for that, have emailed as I have already seen the version on skoda-auto.....assuming this one is different! :)

There isn't a cat in hells chance that VAG will get £17k of my childrens inheritance for a Fabia let alone one that looks as plain on the inside and out as the new vRS

Skoda know that people, especially in the current financial climate won't pay list price, that's why there is a multitude of offers on their website.

I wouldn't spend £14k on it either

Bingo it is the same brochure but in hard copy ;) I think £14k would be a fair price as I'm sure it will be a nice little car to drive. Don't like the look of the hatch but the estate is much nicer to look at and would be a unique little car.

All cars are crazy prices now, I wouldnt pay 17k for a small car either especially one with a rattly airbag cover :giggle: Im with whoever said the 1.2 TSi is enough

Yes, I agree £14k would be about right, but there's no chance of that.............I'll be happy if it starts at £15k with a load of extras ,otherwise, it's bye bye :)

Well I've been waiting for this new vRS for about three years now. It's taken so long to come out I have in the meantime, paid off all the finance so my old vRS costs peanuts to run, and had it remapped, so it's pretty dam quick. So the new one would have to be pretty well priced to tempt me. Personally I would expect prices to be very similar to the Ibiza.

Whatever it costs, I'm looking forward to seeing it for real even though I doubt I'd be tempted.

If it's not coming with a manual box option then i'm not interested. Hate Auto's, they're so boring to drive

I'm, tempted by the new Ibiza FR using the 2.0 CR140 engine

DSG isn't quite the same as the auto we know and hate. It's essentially a manual box, with fixed ratios, that can change gear faster than you can.

1.2 TSI 'Sportline' hatch should be pretty good, I actually prefer it to the vRS I think!: http://www.skoda-auto.cz/cze/model/newfabia/equipment/pages/sportline.aspx

Autoexpress tested the Golf with this engine today and were very impressed with the performance, and the Fabia is lighter....

I know but it's still not for me, i prefer the clutch and a gearstick

I drove my dads old BMW 535i V8 for 3 weeks and couldn't wait to give him it back. Loved the power off it but the Autobox drove me mad and my left leg kept going numb, traffic lights and stops i kept looking for the clutch lol

Hehe, when I finally order my new Fabia, it will have the manual box, not the DSG. On paper the DSG gets better economy on a long trip (3mpg better off) but it's worse on urban cycle, which is where 90% of my driving is now.

My dad offered me his BMW 730D if i could insure it it was mines, that being auto i wouldn't have grumbled at as it's a stunning big beast!

But i couldn't insure it :( £2.5k at 24 with 5 years NCB but i don't have a clean licence :(

Me too except it's price is knocking on Cupra territory: a ridiculous premium which knocks the economy benefits :(

Tbh the fabia suits me better having 2 kids so back doors is really essential but I also want something fun and cheapish to run so we'll see what prices etc are

Sticking to my current fabia vrs for now though
