Removing the Headlights on a vRS

Featured Replies

How on earth are you supposed to get remove the Headlights to put in the bulbs? one thing about my Mondeo is it took no more than 2 mins. On the Furby it seems like I could be here all day pulling things apart in order to get to the bulb holders. argggghhh.

I chickened out and got my dealer to do it (I've got Xenons so there's practically no room behind them.)

In the end, they decided to remove the front bumper to pull the headlights forward and install the bulbs. Took 2 hours (but it was the first time they had done it).

Normal headlights quite easy.

Xenons not so easy, personally id rather move the battery and the fuel filter than remove the bumper and the headlights!

But then again you wouldnt be changing the bulbs on a Xenon car

Glad mine's is a boggo Fabia. 2 minutes to replace any bulb. Even the front fogs!!

I'm thinking of changing the sidelight bulbs in mine as they look pants next to the xenons. ;)

Ahh i got ya Graeme, still I bet ya dont when you see the gap you have to work with. ;)

I've got the same idea. Maybe some nice white LED sidelights! :D

I had that idea, have some nice 9-LED white sidelight bulbs and some birghter main beam bulbs but don't have the room to fit them cos the car's got xenons, and don't have the bottle to start taking my new toy to pieces in case I break it! Anybody got the bottle to do this and produce a how-to with pics for the cowards of the world to follow? :P

I've already changed the indicator bulbs to Silver Vision items. That was a doddle & only took 5 mins.

I only want to change the sidelights cos they look a bit naff alongside the xenons! :D

Main beam does a good enough job, so I'll be leaving them alone.

I think there's enough room to get the side lights in & out with out taking out the headlights.:rubchin:

I'll check at the weekend to see if there is.

Why do you think it has taken me a year to get round to doing them so far!

No they're not xenons so it should be easy, is it in the manual? I thought it'd only be in a Haynes one or something?
