Driving Lights

Featured Replies

you can drive legally on just side lights in the uk providing that there are street lights, and i don't have a problem with fog lights being used myself i quite often have mine on so i can that little bit extra.

its also a good point about the side+fog combo for foggy weather, does make it easier

DT do a light pod...not that I've even thought about it once....

Xenon users can uprate full beam bulb. The xenon light is good, but easily outdriven on familiar roads :(

By that I mean A's normally where in the day you can see a long way, night your lights just fade into the straight.

Honda's new tech looks interesting to say the least with a night camera in the front to present the road ahead on a display...very funky I think.

Very much agree.

Just like to say. Ordered my bulbs wednesday from Powerbulbs, got them thursday. Just need to fit them now.

Let me know how you go about it - I have xenons and bought bulbs to uprate the main beams but chickened out when I saw the space available for the job :o

Are the lights fitted to the Octy really so bad? I've been really impressed with them so far and I've just got the standard set-up as supplied with the car...

Perhaps all you guys need to do is slow down a bit at night on the twisty stuff and you will find they work just fine!!! :D

Posted this before; if you enter the following voucher code in "XVQAV170" at powerbulbs website, you should get 10% off....

I got some for the wife's Touran. Why fit illegal 100w bulbs, when you can fit +50% ones ?

And for those with xenons, you get a "free" pair of "blue" sidelights. "normal" sidelights look pretty yellow next to a xenon dipped beam - these look a lot whiter.

Think you could be a little  The powerbulbs +50% ones, vision plus, are for the dipped beam, the "illegal" ones are the philips rallye bulbs and are for the main beam (H4 against H7 I think) :)

And thanks for the code - I used it recently.

my bulbs are brighter than +50% seeing as 50W + 50% = 75W and mine are 90W and 100W on full blast so a full 100% brighter than stabdard.

or you could always do a little bit of re-wiring and fit 130/100's  think this will come in the future

what fitment should I be ordering for my Octy? H4 or H7, are they the size?

Recent Octy is H7, older one H4

its not so much just size as general shape/size/pin location and i think one has seperate bulbs and the other is twin filament

Beleive I have to remove each headlight to fit the bulbs. Should be good fun :D

 And I thought the standard bulbs were tricky. Did them in the rain a couple of days ago and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was, despite the lack of space to see what you're doing :D Very glad I did it now though

Chris

I chickened out of replacing the main beams myself, and got my dealer to do it. He took the bumper off to remove the headlights. I believe Ross prefers removing the battery and the fuel filter to gain access.

Either way, those bulbs better not blow in a hurry!.
