Philips Vision Plus

Featured Replies

Fitted a set of Philips Vision Plus dipped beam lamps on Saturday, just tried them out - wow what a difference! They were originally fitted in my Golf, thought I noticed a reduction in brightness after the swap but the improvement in the fabia seems much greater than the Golf (if you see what I mean?!)

Fitting was fiddly but only took 15mins - perhaps I was lucky I didn't drop a bulb?!!!

Anyway - I highly recommend these

Do you have a URL for those mate? I find the lights in the Fabia terrible quite honestly.

I find the standard lights pretty good. each to his own and all that :)

Hmmmm

:wrthless:

Nah, just kidding. Its hard to tell us just how much brighter they are, but would you recommend them that much?

I'm regretting not getting Xenon lights when I bought the car, they would have been nice - I had thought at the time they were easy to fit....Doh! Dont think the standard lights are too bad on mine though, light up the road good enough, but its not as if I do a lot of nightime B road driving. Is this what your using them for mostly or do you find them much much better for just general use?

ooooh, look at the one who ate all his carrots when he was a child....

;)

I've got them from Powerbulbs in the past, good service. You can also pick them up cheaper on eBay as well, but Powerbulbs throw in a set of Philips Bluevisions sidelight bulbs with each order, so it balances out.

It's hard to say how much brighter they are, Philips quote 30% IRC and that's probably about right. We need a standardly lit Furby and one next to it with Philips, so we can compare :D

Yup, I'd say they're a good 20% brighter. The light is whiter and seems to project further. I certainly wouldn't want to go back to the originals. The difference when I swapped them back in the Golf was huge.

Sorry I don't had a URL for the bulbs, got mine from Les Smith for about

Feel free to post a review in the review section above :)

i keep meaning to get myself a pair when i have spare cash..... but hey ho. lol:rofl:

Paul trying driving an old Rover 214 or a mini, then you will know what bad lights are lol. :D

If they are the ordinary white ones they are meant to be 50% brighter. I was going to get a set as I find the octy lights to be poor compared with the Octy 2 I test drove. Won't bother if they are only 20% brighter, not worth the

You could put one philips bulb in and a standard on the other side, that may give some indication of the difference

I don't have a before shot, but this is my "after" one. :D

Jase - you'll have to take a shot of your main beam too ;) I'm running Osram bulbs as dipped and some Phillips Rallye ones for main....

Chris

PS it is not Power bulbs that give a free set of side light bulbs. It is Philips. They come in the same box clearly labelled as being free (was looking at them in my locla car accessory shop as I do not like buying mail order).

Well someone is on the take then, as PowerBulbs are the only place I've seen giving them away free!

Steve

I am not joking. My local store (Wheels are Us) has them for a rather inflated price. However the packaging includes 2 blue side light bulbs which it describes as being a free extra.

Your wish is my command - I had one anyway. :D

I fitted some Osram Silver stars a few weeks back and noticed a big improvement over the std bulbs. Got them from ebay for approx

I'm thinking of changing the main beam bulbs in my Octy - there doesn't seem to be a huge difference between the dipped xenons and the main beam halogens. Has anybody else noticed this? And what type of bulb are the main beam units - H3 or H4 - I thought H3?

Just ordered a full set (Dipped,Main & free sidelights!!) from Powerbulbs I'll let you know what they are like :)

on powerbulbs it says you need an H3 for a furby which they don't do in vision plus. Have I got this wrong?

IIRC... i think its H7 for dipped...

and H1 for Main?

i could be wrong tho......

You are correct. Proceed past go and collect
