You are correct. Proceed past go and collect

According to the search facility for 2003 Fabia on Powerbulbs the H3 are for main/full or fog and H7 for low/dip

Neo, do I sense you have doubts?

On the Fabia, the main and dipped are in separate bulbs. You need H3 (eg Philips 100W ;)) for the main beam, and H7 for the dipped (eg Osram SilverStars). Foglights are also H3's. In the Octy I believe the main and dipped are in the same bulb and are H4's. Jon (TaviaRS) did a post which detailed it all :D

Manual is definitely right if it says H3's main and fogs, H7 for dipped. I've just ordered a full set and they all fit ;)

Anyone out there running with 100W Main Beam?

Anyone out there running with 100W Main Beam?

I might be interested in the 100w main beam option if it is any good (for use on my private road of course!)

any thoughts....

Is it safe to run 100w bulbs for main with the standard wiring/relays/switchgear? Also can the reflectors/lenses cope with the extra heat generated?

I'd like to do this if it's safe.

A few of us are running with them and they haven't caused any problems so far, but have been invaluable to me as I work in the middle of nowhere which means plenty of pitch black deserted country lanes at this time of year! I think Andy Ellis has used them for 15-25 minute runs at a time and said they were fine. A pic of a dark country lane illuminated by the Rallye's can be found in post 18 on this thread I think......

Chris

One pair of Phillips Rallye 100w (H3 main) and one pair of Osram Silver Star (H7 dipped) winging their way to my house from powerbulbs as we speak. :D

Just need a fabia vRS to put them in now! ;)
