Octavia vRS

Featured Replies

So picked up today, dealer decided without telling me that it would be best to wait 3000-5000 kms' before we chip it. Makes sense I suppose, but would have been good to know beforehand, so I wasn't expecting to pick it up chipped.

Ah well, it's still bloody fun to drive!!

Here are some quick snaps I took tonight:

Next stop - tints...

Looks great, if it were mine, I'd be sorting out something to fill in the gap between the euro numberplate and the smaller NZ plates, it looks a little strange!

Lovely car mate :D

And I agree with the number plate issue! You'd think Skoda would do what other VAG marques do i.e. the US spec front strips on VW's etc

Yeah, it does a bit, you can get euro style plates here, but they are $400, so I will be getting them, but not yet...

Beautiful

What did you polish it with? Looks nice and shiny emoticon-0103-cool.gif

I've never gone for white cars historically but there is something about the FL Octavia in White (and some Audis) that just looks great! I think I will look at this when my Mk2 goes.

So um how come your analog speedo readout is in kph and so is your digital readout? I thought one had to be kph and the other mph depending on country?

Lovely motor though :)

God this wait is starting to bug me now after seeing all the new ones. I can't see me getting mine till late October.

Hopefully my white one will arrive late September..

After seeing this one now I am getting restless again emoticon-0103-cool.gif

New Zealand uses kilometres perhaps? :)

That's an EU directive. Every car sold in the Eu must display km/h hence the UK cars have an mph speedo and the km/h on the maxidot/trip computer display that you can't change that to mph (It may be possible to override this with VCDS etc)

Very well captured shots mate. Lovin them ;)

Your car looks almost identical to my order.

Makes me even more excited for the delivery now.

Never liked white cars but have to agree, the Candy white vRS looks very good.

Congrats and enjoy :)

We loved NZ when we went there last year - but with the blanket 62 mph (100 kph) speed limit is it worthwhile to chip it? Surely it's already got as much performance as you'll ever need.

congrats on ur pick up!! ur wait is finally over!!

my remaining 3 months wait seems alot longer now!!!

lol

have fun enjoying ur new ride :D

Great looking car - I love the vRS in white!

Congrats mate, Excellent pic's, makes me all the more eager to collect my black one which has just been built and left the factory.

Yeah I kinda knew that... I'm not stupid (well not completely ;) ). What I mean is both his digital and analog dials are in KPH. I would have expected the analog one to be in KPH and the digital to be in mph, like GB ones are mph on the analog and kph on the digital. I thought the car had to display both units.

Where else is he going to drive it? Australia? They're metric as well.

In the UK and Europe we need mph and kph cos it's fairly likely we could drive in countries where either is used. Not really likely down under.
