Paul,

I would steer clear of the Miltek rear box, a number of us me included found that the rear box tended to move around a lot ch producing an annoying rattling sound at low speeds. In the end I replaced the rear box with a hand made one which sounds and looks a lot better IMHO.

Lloyd

thanks for the advice Lloyd, didnt i read another thread on here about a fix for this?

I would go hand made as my local shop is brilliant but they have a 6-8 week waiting list

That's interesting, Lloyd.

In time I'm sure I will be considering the full Milltek because of the sports cat (full decat is not viable in Holland, and it sounds too much like full decaf to me anyway! :D ) but I don't like the look of Milltek's rear box and twin-pipe arrangement, apart from the fitting considerations underneath a 4x4. So my thought was to put a custom box at the rear and go for the bonus of selecting my own soundscape. (Perhaps a custom mid-section would also be in order, with just the Milltek downpipe, but haven't yet worked out how much of a difference there is between the undersides of a 4x4 and an RS.)

But what is the effect performance and reliability-wise? Will they suffer with one stage of a full and integrated solution simply replaced? And if it wasn't a case of "simple" replacement, what things did you have to consider?

Must say I haven't had any probs with my Milltek to date.

Des,

Some valid points - totally agree for road use...

but some of us want to play on the track with slicks - which moves the threshold upwards for the RS - especially with a decent suspension setup.. hence the quest for 300+ horses

I have never owned any 4x4 so im not really sure most of my time has been spent in rear drive but I know fwd is not ideal for big power

Don't get me wrong Paul for the track there are things you can do to the RS ie. Change the diff, slicks etc. but the RS doesn't live on the track I/we use them daily and a Quaife diff. woundn't be my first joice mod let alone slicks.

At the end of the day when you've been on the track you have to think about taking things like slicks off, trolly jacks, readjusting suspension for the road and ride hieght over ramps etc.

Des

Or get a big 4x4 with a tow hook and pull the RS up a transporter. :D

Don't give me ideas please the wifes watching.

Wow paul that sounds like its going to be a car to beat all cars

Whats your next step forward ???

400bhp, eh? Sounds like the sort of performance you'd get from an Evo Makinen...

Rob.

NO NO NO

I COULD NOT AFFORD THE MIGHTY POWER OF THE EVO MAK !!1

MY PICTURE WONT WORK ??? IT MUST BE A MITSUBISHI PICTURE

Mr 400 Bhp Man, I have nothing against you (welcome to the forums), but can you please alter your signature to exclude, asterisks or otherwise censored, the obvious? No need for it.

IS THIS ANY BETTER FOR YOU ???

Justin,

Done it for you, welcome. How is that red evo anyway?

Why not come out one night with Paul?

Much better thank you. Also no need to SHOUT

Just wondering if the 400BHP is in the Fabia? I think not.

:bttt:

YES THE FABIA HAS A 400BHP WET NOS KIT ???

sorry i will start using lower case as it upsets you lovely lot !

and i still cant get the monkey picture to work

Is it cause i am the monkey ???

I think it maybe

Your puckering up monkey is working fine when I looked...?

It works on the profile, but the picture is too big to be displayed under your username in the forum. You'll need a downsized version for it to display in the forum, I think.
