I know that this one is going to run and run, but my 1.2TSI / DSG has done 2,800 miles now and my best MPG is 47 that was on a 250 mile run to Scarborough on Cruise at 70 on the motorway for 180 miles with 70 miles of A & B roads at 50 - 60 MPH. I wish that I could at least get 50MPG occasionally !!!!!

2,800 miles is barely run in :)

Just done measure of 2.5 gallons diesel 1.4 tdi 70 bhp 3 cylinder 2008 model 80 mpg

got 40mpg out of my polos tank emoticon-0103-cool.gif

47-50 MPG mix over town and little blasts at present, gotta love the nicer nights and getting out for a wee drive from time to time.

Three tank fulls recorded so far and i'm getting just under 41mpg as you can see from my Fuelly sig. B)

I didn't buy my vRS to potter around but was struggling to get 40mpg even when cruising at legal speeds from new..3200miles on the clock now and things seem to be loosening up a little and 40+mpg seems easy now ! 45-50 might be possible I think in the unlikely event I stuck to 60mph  ..nice to know if I'm low on petrol..!

I think it might even be getting a bit quicker also :p

Well calculations done 2.5 gallons of diesel , works out at 80 mpg so tank full 45 litres / 9.89 gallons works put at 791 miles to a tank fuel I am laughing all the way to the pump

Well done B)

Well done B)

Aye cannot believe it , this things better than a prius and it only cost me 5 k , absolute brill although ear defenders may be an option lol

Annual trip to Essex figures just in.

TSI last weekend.

Latte Yorkshire to Essex 3 hours @ 43 mpg, SWMBO Essex to Yorkshire 4 hours @ 49 mpg. Climate AC on both ways.

TDI 12 months ago.

Latte 51 mpg , SWMBO 61 mpg. AC I think was off both ways.

Conclusions. The economy loss going from oil-rig to petrol-tanker lessens the faster you go!

Crtdi 70 mile round trip 61.5 mpg steady 60-70 mph on cruise and very warm here so ac on as well, so happy days

Just got 35.6mpg (indicated) bringing my new car home from Cardiff.

The long term average is 40.6mpg, so 40 will do nicely.

I would use a fuel monitor, but I don't think I'm that bothered considering the car I've now got :D
