Finally ordered vRS

Featured Replies

At last I ordered my fabia vRS last week. I've gone for black + cruise and got it for

Good lad Sam.

Good price on the Skoda, I have delt with Jewsons in Oxford on a number of occasions (through AmD) and found them very helpfull and friendly.

That's a great price how did you manage that? I've been quoted

I just phoned up, very politely said I had an idea what people were paying round the country and that I wanted a quote for a car with the options required. Stuart was the guy I've been dealing with and he quoted that price - everyone is a winner!

Cheers, I'll phone up on Wednesday as I think that's when they open again and see what they can do. If I can get it for that price I don't mind making the journey, but like Ross said I'll have to also phone up Pilling and see if they'll match it.

One last thing, how long did they say it'll take to be delivered?

Cheers again

the dealer showed me the screen with the cars already in the UK and the ones coming in, with the options. assuming you don't want a wierd combo of options (which means a factory order) there is usually soemthing around with your spec.

I ordered mine on tuesday last week and it might arrive at the dealer later this week. anyway, obviously I'll not have it registered until after new year as then when it comes to seilling it will be a 2005, 54 plate car, rather than a 2004 54 plate if registered before. so, in short not long to wait. if christmas wasn't buggering everything up it would be quicker.

I've been quoted

That is a really good price but they don't have the backup you get with a dealer. What's the warranty period with Tins and what happens if something is wrong on delivery. I'd prefer to buy from a dealer as then I just go straight in to them when I have problems.

Cheers for the suggestion

Warranty, with Skoda for 3 years. Backup from a dealer? When I got delivery of mine I went in to pilling and had a chat with the guy that I had just bought it and it would be getting serviced here etc and they were very friendly and welcoming.

There's absolutly no risk from buying from tins and you save yourself over a grand.

Without wanting to cause offence unless you get a craking deal from a dealer, you'd be a fool to buy else where :)

Ordered mine from a Dealer (Prestige in Coventry) about 6 weeks ago.

Specs can be seen in my sig but I got it for 12.2k OTR with 12 months tax and a full tank of diesel. Works out to be 1260 off rrp. It's just negotiation with the dealer and then a bit of benchmarking with other dealers.

**EDIT: I have just specc'd up my car on both drivethedeal.com and tins.co.uk. On DTD it came to 12243 and tins came to 13200. As mentioned above I ordered mine from a dealer for less than either of the online brokers...!!

Just been on the phone to Oxford and they said the lowest they can go is

I just paid

I went for a dealer in Newbury, will post more details in a separate thread, and basically told them what the target price should be for the options I specified. They got so close it wasn't worth the grief, plus I took the car for a test drive early in the morning to return it at about 15 minutes before they closed with Mrs to get the order paperwork done. The sales guy had to stay late to make it happen and was very friendly even though he got asked a lot of questions ;)

Can't wait to see the real thing appear sometime in March though :D

I've checked Tins.co.uk and they do it for
