LOL @Rob - have you noticed another car much painted in this style is the Nissan Micra, Rob? Fancy changing back?

TVR also do a fantastic pearl silver as seen on new 350TC; goes kind of gold/brown(??).

Now I would have that on my RS.

How do TVR get the colours; I know it's the paint but the black magic doesn't have such a pearl effect so is it the amount of pearl effect in the p[aint or something else?

Just wondering.

Never seen any Micra's with it - there's Nissan Primera round the corner from me with the

purple-green transition, which is rather nice though... :D

You can also get it as interior paint now - Benetton do a range of "metallic" transition paint.

Not really sure of the science behind it though...would be interested to find out!

Rob.

oooh, spectraflake!

I find with these flip paints they really suit a curved surface, where you can see the colour "roll" as it moves even a little...

I remember in Northants there was an old Galant done in purple \ pink flip, but it was such a square shape every vertical surface appeared purple, and every horizontal surface pink, there was no movement of colour unless you looked vertically down on the sides, or horizontally across the bonnet \ roof etc.

Yep, seen a couple of those Micras around these parts - they look like lipstick on wheels! [insert barf smiley here]

I bet the trade-in penalty is huge...

Isn't the TVR pearlescent paint job circa

Cascade paint is

Nearly right about the price, then. :D

Getting back on topic....

Chatting with our local dealer last night - expected date for a Fabia RS is....

September!!

(and, they have been told January 2004 for the new octavia, but seeing as this may disappear, I'll post a new thread for that :D)

September... Excellent I'll be back from my hols and can get the test drive arranged!

The TVR gold flip paint by the way does in fact contain real gold flakes. Apparently it costs about

nearly same colour as the wife's

emerald -> green -> lilac -> blue..

To change the subject BACK to the Fabia vRS...

I've just spoken to the salesman at my local dealer, who sold me my Fabia, and have been granted first refusal on a test drive of the vRS Fabia when it arrives. He said he wants first go himself though... ba5stard! :)

I also spoke to guy I rang in service when waiting for AA on Monday. I explained what happened and he was quite sympathetic. Probably laughed his a55 off once he'd hung up!

If you get yer flappy gob shut, no one except the AA chap need

have ever found out!

Verdict: self-inflicted... :p

Rob.

have you seen the less than favorable revue of the car in Evo?

sounds like it need a chip to me!

Haven't read the review myself, but I've heard many interpretations with pretty much the

same disappointed verdict. To be honest, I don't really care how bad the Fabia vRS is,

I'm still holding out for a W8 version ;)

Rob.

would be cool... fabia rs could have been so much more..

pd150 or 1.8t 225 would have sorted it!

possibly middle/end of july to early august.

Here is my oppinion on how the Fabia RS should look like:

4WD, 6-gear, 2.0L FSI (150bhp/110kW) engine, leather sportseats and available in all colours.

Now the TDI-engine in a "sportscar" doesn't sound right.

Cheers,

FD
