Fabia vRS Launch Date?

Featured Replies

The irony is, all I need to do is lower mine, remap it, and maybe tart it up a bit and I'll have a better car than the branded vRS - Its a shame that its not setting me a real target for me to surpass with my own :(

I've looked into swapping over to the larger injectors nozzles that are used in the Fabia vRS engine and I think it is possible, although they are very expensive!.

There is little difference between the 100PD and the 130PD apart from the injectors and the turbo. However the latter has reinforced internals too and the six speed 'box which is designed to be very strong to cope with all the torque.

So in theory you could up spec a TDi to vRS levels of power although the gearbox may have other ideas! The cost of doing all this would be silly though!

Oh well i can dream about it anyway... :drive1:

Sounds vaguely familiar.... :D

Mentioning no names, eh? ;)

What would be good...

Like the V6 Clio - shoehorn a W8 into the boot/back seats of a Fabia. :D

Rob.

As someone with a PD TDI 130 in a Superb, I think the 130 lump in a Fabia will a real hoot. The traction control is gonna have a real job stopping the fronts wheels spinning anytime you put your foot down in almost any gear.

I reckon thats once its out, many of those who are less than happy with the prospect of a Diesel in the car will more pleasantly supprised at how good it will be.

The only down side to owning that little beast will be a need for a standing order at Quik -Fit with all that torque.

Cheers

Been watching this thread with interest. A vRS with a diesel??? The Octavia boy racers must be having a fit! grumpy.gif Doubtless 4X4 will be next on the list for fitting to the Fabia vRS, then their humiliation will be complete.

I'll info everyone when I get a go. It sounds to me like Colin has first refusal at his friendly dealer for a test drive. I'm gonna see if I can get the same from mine... :drive:

Colin? Colin????

Sorry Ian - I get all you mods mixed up, don't I . :stupid: (can you do one of these with I AM STUPID)

No, I think the icon is correct as it stands :D

Kentish,

traction shouldnt be too much of a problem if mine is anything to go by. Traction is pretty good and the TCS only cuts in if youre really brutal. This was even the case with the original 14" wheels.

Unless its raining of course! Or icy or snowy! even then it isnt as bad as you'd imagine.

Git! :D

I notice that a member of our site has written an e-mail to Top Gear about what a missed

opportunity the Fabia "aRSe" is... :)

Rob.

Stupid question but I've only seen reports of a Fabia hatch version... has anyone heard if there'll be an estate as, being a current owner of a TDI estate I'd definitely be interested in a VRs!

Dont think there are any plans for an estate version yet.

Funny when you think back to the Fabia sports concept at the Paris Motor Show. That was an estate - and it was purple!

Purple?... i thought it was Blue (at least it was to my eyes). Tis a shame if they don't do one though as it's great fun to blat past people in a Skoda to start with, especially a diesel... but when they realise it's an estate it's even more fun!

Skomaz, i think your'e right about the concept being blue.

But I did find this purple one as well, which is the one I was thinking of. car_portal_pic_7005_t.jpg

Unless its just a lighting effect. I found these pictures at the Autoexpress website.

hmm... wierd! Maybe it's just the lighting?

There used to be a Ford Escort ragtop (OK, "Cabriolet") with an interesting paint finish in our office car park. It was turquoise/violet, changing as you moved around the car (or the car stayed still and the sun moved). Nice colour - shame about the car ;)

Mike

At least it had a bit of kudos in being built at the Karmann factory in Osnabruk , home of the VW Beetle cabrio and also the Karmann Ghia coupe/cabrio as well , and the Escort Cosworth , if you were a fan of this ugly thing! (accept no substitute , the best Cossie is the original 3 door Sierra in Diamond White...one day.....lol) (best not mention the Kia Sportage tho , eh? lol!)

Apologies - I didn't meant to be rude - it's just that I get a bit twitchy when the word "Ford" is mentioned. It's probably just a flashback to the days when I owned a Ford Anglia 105E - the original gutless wonder, with factory-installed rust :(

I once saw a similar colour on a TVR... Went from green to blue to purple as the sun shone on it... Amazing pimp-tastic :D
