Fabia Sport

Featured Replies

Skoda have published a photo of the Fabia Sport. Doesn't seem to have much of a bodykit so there'll be no confusing it with the vRS.

Bless it, it looks ok tbh

Not as nice as the vRS though :)

Looks like a decent car in that colour , the price is good with the number of standard features it has , although the 100bhp version of the engine would have been better.

I think that will sell quite nicely

Looks OK, yeah. I'm not sure if the exhaust is just a bolted on bit of tartiness though, on to the standard setup. :D Subtle spoiler, normal alloys (15"?) so I say its all good!

As with most cars aimed at younger drivers the big thing is going to be the insurance group it ends up in , and at 4E it should be pretty cheap to run

Thats why the VTR did so well IMO

The ultra-successful Fabia vRS has been purchased by more than 3,500 UK drivers since its launch in 2003

I was quite surprised about this extract from the carpages.co.uk article as I've only seen one other on the road since I got mine 6 weeks ago! And we only have about 120 owners in the "How many Fabia vRS owners......" list. Maybe the other 3,380 owners are all Grandads who have not yet discovered the interweb thingy. :D

I dont think it could be comparable with a VTR, the VTR was fairly quick for starters, this car definitely will not be!

I dont think he was comparing it with the VTR just pointing out that low insurance groups are a healthy bonus for young people. And i'd agree the VTR insurance group was quite low for what it was which was why it was so successful

Indeed.

The VTR was the cheapest warm hatch to insure (until they all got crashed or nicked) so it sold very well.

When measured up against competition , whatever that is , the low insurance costs for the Furbort will hopefully see it selling quite nicely

The Saxo VTR was sold with free insurance for quite a while too.

sport seats...

Wonder if they will be the same cream ones as the VRS?

We all know they look nice...when in the showroom, but if they had a more practical choice it would be nice

lol You make it sound like its a puppy or sommett :D

It does look quite impressive tho, and nice price too for the extras you get with it.

Any pitures of the seats? I know the purpose behind it but sorry to disagree it looks a bit normal to me.think skoda will have bit of a job pursuading the 'yoof' away from c2's corsa sports and the like despite it being a better car.agree 100bhp would have been better(tdi) low insurance still and at least bit of oomph.just a thought.hope they dont just paint the wing mirrors black on a new octavia and call that 'sport' too ;)

I though the 1.4 16v 75bhp was an Octy engine, surely this engine has always been 100bhp in the furby (I suppose to seperate it from the 68bhp 1.4 8V)?

Seems strange to put a less hp verion in a 'sport' model than in a basic comfort model?

I think the 1.4 75BHP engine is the same as in the Fabia Auto

By bird's Dad has an 04 Fabia 1.4 16V Elegance, and it's the 100 BHP engine...

It is very strange and a pitty, 'cause I am sure a furby with a lighter weight 100 bhp petrol engine prob goes better than the heavy diesel vRS, with a petrol engines inherant advantages.

Is this a William imposter? He's hardly trying with this post, and the grammar and spelling are shoddy compared with his normal efforts.

Was me, but I just can't be arsed when typing on Briskoda to worry too much about my grammar. Look up any of my actual publications or my book and you will see a different story. Ah the wonders of proof readers...............

Ah! I thought we might have a second 'Billy Seamates' for a second there.

I see they have dropped the yellow for this latest sporty edition. Someone at Skoda must have developed taste :).

  • 2 weeks later...

i see the adverts are in the motoring mags now(there is one in this weeks autocar)

"on the one hand it's easy to park.On the other you don't want to" oooh

don't think they have made the advert sporty or appealing. looks like our last 1.4 classic.fab vrs ads were better.sorry no pics

I think there's a Fabia Sport (red) outside Fish Brothers Skoda (Swindon) at the moment. Looks almost like a VRS but with different front bumper and foglight surrounds. I was in a hurry so didn't look at the back or have a squint inside, nice though. :)

The one I've seen in the showroom had classic badges on the front wings.

Vrs seats with a dirrerent material fitted, Vrs steering wheel, different 'wing' attached to the tailgate and 15"alloys.

That seems to be your lot.
