On order today....

Featured Replies

Hi everybody!

Placed my order today 25/9.

Build week 48, dealer forecast before Christmas.... :D

In think father Christmas will somewhat late this year...

// Superbjoser

Considering we are in (the end of ) week 38 today, I think I can safely say you have got no chance of a build week 48!

Depending on the full spec of options you have added (and your country) expect a delivery date of around 20 weeks from order.

Naaah, you don't say?

Just kidding, I've been lurking this forum for a while and I'm not that surprised... But thanks for the feedback.

I hope you are the exception and the optimistic forecast of BW48 comes true.... keep us informed

Placed my order 1st week July and have just been informed that it has now slipped from BW40 to BW48!......gutted!

When i ordered my Superb estate (4x4, manual 170, With Park assist, Sunset glass, MDI, Heated screen & Washers, spare wheel & matts) in late February, it was here and collected in late April!

I cant see why they are taking SOOOOO long now to deliver them - surely there should have been more orders placed when the car was released? or are there more people ordering now, than then?

I can go one better! Build week 37 dropped back to Build week 49!! Still don't have a reason other than being told it is right across the group. I am looking for a better excuse than that. Have you been given a reason?

Have you been given a reason?

I have been told:

"Skoda diesel engines are on a slow build at the moment, due to under anticipated demand"

I have been told:

They must have slow demand for the petrol as well since that's what I ordered. :p

Hi!

There have been some updates on this since my last visit here. As you may have seen in other replays from me I had a new date a couple of weeks ago, my BW had moved from 48 to 45! Yes! But a new visit to the dealer to day gave me a setback to week 47. :'( I will then probably not see my new car this year. On the other hand I got somewhat wiser on my considerations about the winter tires. Earlier on I was looking real hard at the Nokian Hakkapeliitta R. Then I've read some test reports that put Goodyear UltraGrip ICE+ up in front due to a better over all performance for my needs, and a little bit cheaper as well.

All in all, patience will be needed...

There's also a major problem just now with supply of new Audi A3s, wonder if it's related, since they'e on the same floorpan and share so many components ?

Since when? My understanding is the Superb uses a stretched VW Passat (current model) floorpan, not that of the Audi A3.

I believe the Audi A3 shares a floorpan with the VW Golf, Skoda Octavia and Seat Leon (AFAIK).

There is a lot of component sharing obviously which will account for delays if any supply problems arise, engines and gearboxes causing delays across the VAG group at the moment, especially 170 CR diesels, 1.4 s/charged petrols and DSG gearboxes. Try ordering a Golf or Polo with any of the above now and you'll be offered delivery around May 2011.

Acording to wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skoda_Superb ) It is based on a stretched version of the PQ35 platform. The same as A3, Golf, Octavia...

But then again, if you look att the PQ46 platform that the Passat is based on ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Group_B_platform#PQ46 ), the Superb is listed.

And now I read the whole info about PQ35/PQ46

Apparently the PQ46 platform is a larger version of the PQ35 platform.

Excellent news! - and about the same time as mine, ordered in February - which dealer is it? we used DMK Bradford - no complaints at all! - i got the service i wanted, which was to supply me with the car, at the right price, and nothing else.

Al.

ps. My dealer did say, that the 4x4 is built in Germany, as the Chez factory is not tooled for 4x4 on a Superb platform... dont know if there is any truth in it mind...

Hi!

I've got a mail from my dealer recently, and that said confirmed BW is...(drum roll) week 47! Car ready for delivery (everything go right...) is week 50. :o

Thats before Christmas! Hmm... funny feeling, its not that far away. It's time to get rid of my Mondeo now. To much at work, Christmas incoming and now this! Poor me...

When I was fooling around in a site considering colors on the car I went to the flip where you can build your car on that site. And since I don't know one bit Check (sp?) this was quite fun to see the result and the cost. A lot more of extras as well...

Well if they actually do deliver by then you must have one of the quickest factory ordered cars lately!

I hope for your sake this is true .

Thats great news, happy xmas here you come. My BW is supposed to be next week, after 11 weeks of waiting, it is still status 10, needs to be status 20 to be cast in stone, so skoda uk taking it to the wire with mine, get the feeling they are not that organised back at the factory, and getting any kind of responce from skoda uk is a total waste of time. My dealer is ok, but they can only pass on info. I know the wait will be worth it, but if I'd known the stress involved in waiting I'd have brought a '10' plate E class for the same money, and Id have had in for the past 3 months.

...and only half the toys the play with ;) Seriously though, I'm sure it'll be well worth the wait. I ordered mine on Sept 30th and I'm current;y allocated BW2. What's the score with the "status"...?

I was informed by the dealer that when your order is status 10 it can still be moved about, but when it gets stepped up to status 20 it will have a confirmed build date, and that is when it will be built. And the wait will be worth it.

Hi again!

Since I promised to keep you updated in this thread: Got my license number last week. And a phone call later on said that the car had been shipped from factory and are waiting for a transport in a German harbor. So far the dealers estimate on the delivery plan still stands. Winter tires ordered. It's gonna be a BIG Christmas present this year for the family..and me! :D
