Read the heading, it says "New Fabia vrs on Fifth gear " not Top Gear :giggle:

Anyway....Set for recording

think the clue's in the title...

Fifth Gear is hardly worth shouting about in this age of ever-increasing gear cogs. Maybe they should call the show Seventh Gear! Whatever, it won't get a decent test unless it's in the hands of Nidell, Plato or Butler-Hendersonl. Or do you think it could be the Stig's reasonably priced car since he jumped ship?!?

where did he jump ship to, is there now a 'stig' on 5th gear

They'll probably do some tw@tty comparison test like driving it backwards head to head with a Polo or something :dull:

Whoops........already done something like that

Could it be called 5th Gear because its on Channel 5? :giggle::dull:

well sarcasm is the lowest for off whit :wonder: chrisrs!!,the guys from 5th gear that 5th gear not top gear ,really like the skoda's and jeremy was a fan of the roomster I think, the vrs fabia will get good reviews but may be marked down for over steer in the fast corners or so Ive been told

No, it's the same Stig. Some say... that he got dropped by the Top Gear producers after letting the cat out of the bag about his real identity, and has been snapped up by Fifth Gear. Let's hope they don't reinvent him as a poor man's version of the Stig, seeing as Fifth Gear is a poor man's version of Top Gear.

well, he will apparently be wearing a "number of colourful racing suits"

From the little clips I have seen on the promo is going to be driven by the lanky one with the bumfluff on his face.

Get it on Top Gear and give it to Jeremy and let him try and make a fool of himself - oh yeah he doesnt need a car to do that!

Yawn!

Ross just looking at your stats regarding fuel, seem's pretty poor mpg I am getting the same model as you but hatch version, hope I will get better results than this though,I see you are running 17" wheels why? could this be the reason for the poor mpg? :(

Oh no! He's the worst one ever! At least he'll be able to test the car's considerable headroom! As for driving it, pass it onto one of the other presenters who at least have a racing licence!

I have a feeling the speed records which they are attempting to break my be more of the "novelty" variety, but we shall wait and see

I'm looking forward to the review of the vRS.

Same here. Programme about Eddie Stobart on after it too. Starting to see a lot of stobart lorries over here lately.

when is this fith gear programme on? what time/date?

For once Channel Five does something good for a hour and a half! Mind you it looks like Johnny is going to be breaking five speed records on the fabia, so hope he gives it a decent review before hand!

yes promo looks good, the stig on 5th gear bet you they were livid on the top gear management team,to be honest I think that top gear although a good programme it has over the years felt a little wanting!,I like both programmes for different reasons, top gear is more for the chavs dna within us all but 5th gear is more of a traditional pipe 'n'slippers approach to the car industry, top gear will they get another stig or will it be a stigette my money is on the german lass(she drove the transit around neurberghring or somewhere like that, looking forward to it tonight it will be a great review they love the skoda on 5th gear! :p

Yep. Top Gear is now an entertainment program and 5th Gear is more of a motoring show. I think the best was channel 4's version called "Driven" as they tested ordinary every day cars.

I'm sure Sabine will be too busy driving the ring Taxi and other things to be the new Stig. I have seen on Youtube her reviewing cars for a German test. An old mini against a Bini, then a Porsche (she drove the Bini and 911) driven around the Ring. The old mini did very well (beat the Bini), however it did have a Honda VTEC engine in it.
