VRS Insurance?

Featured Replies

im with skoda insurance, they were the cheapest for me, beat everyone else by 100 bucks!! I pay 244 bucks fully comp, with PNCB, im 27 with 8 years NCB, the wifes a named driver also!

Aviva £255 fully comp , protected no claims and legal , £100 excess, that is the main one to look out for ,and 18 inch were a standard fit very soon after release, a no cost option, are your xenon's after market , if so tell them car is back to standard , making your lights brighter in my book does not make you a higher risk

Re the xenons, they were on the car from the factory, as was everything else...however I was advised previously that any deviation from the standard spec means it's 'modified'. We can discuss the merits of that until the cows come home (& have done so on here many times in the past) - but the bottom line is I need to make sure I am fully covered, not find out I am not, once it's too late.

As far as the xenons go, they are more expensive to replace...so will cost more to insure for that reason. Most of the other stuff shouldn't be an issue - I hope !

Ok mate but I would just say to any prospective insurer , I have got factory fitted extras and no mention of the dreaded M word!

By that logic any vehicle that came out of the factory with any option fitted would be classed as "modified". Presumably you called the person on the phone a moron and hung up.

Aviva also seem to be coming up the cheapest for me as well: £285 fully comp, protected NCB and legal. However, the lowest excess that I can select on the website is £150.

I think you are right re the dreaded 'M' word...but there is always the fear (which they play on) that you may not be fully covered in the event of a claim. Until that day arrives, I guess we can tell them what we want & keep our fingers crossed!

we went with Axa this year as it was a good deal cheaper than my renewal with More Than..£350 quid ish

more than had put my premium up about 80 notes..the rob dogs

Got quote then rang up , I do a really low mileage as I cycle everywhere, so got a better deal on excess

I hope to become a VRS owner in the near future & set about getting some quotes.

Both identical cars (VRS estates) & bizarrely the petrol came out cheaper that diesel :S

Aviva are often quite cheap but they were appalling when my vRS was stolen last January. They more or less accused me of fraud and it took three weeks to persuade them that the claim was genuine, even though the police were as supportive as possible.

The car was recovered undamaged, fortunately.

Probably claims handler was a daily Mail reader and didn't like your name!<A xenophobe> :giggle::thumbup:
