I have a friend who lives opposite me who bought an IS Lexus and doesn't like it. He says it is guttless and not much fun to drive. Before he had a Golf GTI which was great compared to the Lexus.

Has he never heard of a "test drive"?

Considered a IS200 in 2006 when I bought my car but the insurance and petrol costs put me off. It was for the best but I still hanker after one rather than a BM or Audi. Dunno why.

Nice car I think.

I once had a drive of and IS300 Sport and thought it was very nice to drive. Nice interior and really good spec (I seem to think it had xenons so they must have been an added extra).

It had an auto slush box but was still lovely to drive, very smooth and plenty of punch on the kick-down ;)

Was comfortable too with the nice black leather seats.

Think I managed 30mpg on a steady run so not bad for the engine size really.

Hope you find a good'un!

Cheers mate.

The IS300 had xenons as standard along with the auto box. The only IS200 that had xenons as standard was the Limited Edition that i'm looking at.

i first drive an IS200 not long after i started at my job and i loved it. every time one gets traded in i always get itchy feet when i see one. dont get me wrong i love the fabia vrs i've got, but the IS200 defo looks nicer, is better built and handles better. looks nice in the sport trim with the standard alloys too. I'm sure you'll have loads of fun with it and as you say you've had one before so you know what your getting at least.

I ended up getting an IS300 Limited Edition in the end. The extra spec it had over the 200 Limted Edition won me over. :) The extra power it has is great too and likie others have said it's like the 200 SHOULD have been like.

My mate had a IS300 he rated it alot. Funny enough he was looking at going back to one as it was in his words "such a great car"

Coolest instrument panel in the business - Just a shame you can't see it when the sun hits it ;) I was looking at the IS but was put off a bit by the CO2 figures, and the rear end getting lively in a slightly unpredictable way when it's very wet.

Don't forget they're capped at Band K as they are all pre 2006 registered. The sales guy at the dealership fell foul of that one. He had £230-odd down on the sales sheet for the road tax and i said "well we can save a hundred and odd there cos i'll just be getting 6 months tax" he looked at me and said "that is 6 months tax". I explained about it being registered before 2006 and so being capped at band K and he went off and came back rather sheepishly and said "yep that's right... It's £245 a year for the tax".

Cheers

Dave.
