Im not selling it yet (unless I get a brilliant offer) but its on this years list of things to do & Im just wondering what its worth modded or do I break it back to standard, respray it silver & sell off all the modded bits seperately.

It depends who you sell it to...

A dealer - will be less than you want and he'd prefer it standard, so strip it and sell bits off it (and witness denis and I fighting for bits ).

Or, someone on here \ into tuning who will actually appreciate what has been done, and pay a price in line with that.

Parkers.co.uk will give you a baseline price. The value of the extras depends on the buyer, unfortunately.

If helps Stuart I got 9200 for my '51 with 32k Miles in Dec 03 with APR chip, but that was a detraction if anything.

As Ian says your looking at an enthusiast to buy it for the best return or an incredibly switched on salesteam at a.n.other dealers.

As I found splitting the 4x4 bits was harder as only a handfull of "tuned" cars exist, more now of course, so you may get more for bits. But I found the cost of stripping out weighed any real return for the 2nd hand price of parts.

I think most people on here tend to over value their cars. Certainly been the case when they have been trying to sell them on the for sale section.

Mine was about 4k in average condition That's with 70k miles on it too' date=' but I didn't mention the part beige/part grey interior

edit: back on topic. I think its unlikely that the 4x4 will get much more than market value. :( All I can think of is, that IF it is advertised for

you will get 6k if your lucky... all main dealers wont touch it... you will defo get less than a std one.. would suggest returning to std and selling the parts seperately.

Gotta agree with ffelan, I had the same prob when selling my Golf, I ended up stripping what I could to either sell or put on the Octy.

If you sell the parts you will probably get more for the car and some pocket money from the parts....

Last year pre respray & FMIC I was offered 8000 for it PX against a Passat 4motion 130 PD as it was or Standard & as some know I nerly did it so Im not that worried.

Looks like when it goes its strip it back to standard & a day in the spray shop but that probably wont be for a few months.
