I've always had a bit of a soft spot for 205 1.9 GTis.......

Featured Replies

That's got to be a mistake, £1399 maybe, but £14k

I can believe the price, look at all the rs escort prices.

I had a 205 GTI and it killed all gti golf's etc

Handled like a dream, proper old school!

To be fair if I had the dosh I'd buy it and let my lad have it when he's old enough, it'd teach him how to

drive properly, no ESP etc......

Looks well tidyemoticon-0148-yes.gif Were they much new though? Great cars too drive. Interiors were a little on the fragile side.

Proper hunny bunny that, but the price is taking the p*** a bit IMO.

Still, a car is always worth what someone is willing to pay apparently.

Didn't handle too well on wet roads though.

i had a 309 gti, and bloody loved it , only peugeots i would buy, bloody ugly but so tactile.

I've never owned a 205 but have driven friends cars, and I like them..........a lot.

Couldn't find a good one when I was looking for a track car as they all have plenty of years and wear on them. The Clio Cup 172 is the same principle on simplicity and handling and a lot newer so thats why I have one now.

The asking price is the wrong side of £10k. I can see that one not selling for some time. If I came into a windfall of substantial funds, I would buy it.

Snap! so did I Pete. I had a white 5 door . the 309's were supposed to handle like a Ferrari.emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Lovely example . . . thing is, although the price is sky high, I've never come across quite such a nice example, so someone looking for the absolute gem of a 205 (and if that someone has deep pockets), then this is what they've been waiting for.

Price isn't right at all, we sold a mint 9k mile fsh 1 owner from new car 3 years ago for top money(the car was a concourse winner)

For no where near that cash, and i could buy it back for no where near that cash too, this guy is in dream land!!!!!

Thats a very nice car but not worth 14k!! i always liked these & said id have one as a weekend toy!

Now this is a 309...........................

You may jest, but I do believe I am an original trend setter! white car, black wheels, in 1997? suits you sir! :p

Unless you lifted off in a corner. The 1.9 apparently got the nickname the widowmaker due to the wicked lift off over steer that would likely kill you if unexpected.
