It was my first introduction into VAG based Skoda's and I thought it was a great car, and later this year I may be on the lookout for a standard unmolested one to replace the wife's Polo. I am thinking that might be a difficult task though, to find one in standard condition without a backstreet remap (no offence guys and girls).

A top small hatch for sure and a great mix of performance and fuel economy.

I love me vRS to bits, so much that when it come to actually p/x it I could not let it go. Its like a pet, no matter what little silly issues its got (leaking rear doors for the 3rd time) it just makes me love it that little bit more.

But if it was written off I would be honestly gutted and heart broken, yet after the tears would I get another one?.......................Not sure tbh, I mean yes I would based on the fact that its been such a great car but no as the replacement would not be the same car. Would I replace it with another skoda yes without a doubt.

So I guess with out the emotional attachment to the car, based on its merts then yes I would buy another one.

I absolutely love mine. I like how it looks, I like how it drives (not going to set the world on fire but it feels safe) and the build quality for the main part is very good. It has a few little niggles but I've addressed them as I've owned it (console bushes, stutter) and done a few bits to make it handle and stop better than it did as standard. The performance combined with the economy and cheap tax is a big bonus and there's not much out there that matches it for that. I'd definitely have another one and hope to one day as I need to flog it soon to free up some cash!

If you'd asked me this in the Summer I'd have voted "yes" - the 2004vRS I had from new was the best car I'd ever owned and the car I'd kept the longest (in terms of daily driver).

However I've just voted "no" since the SE replacement is the second worst car I've ever owned and I'm not going to buy another Fabia - though might just be tempted by a Yeti...

That i :'( s sad.

I often drive an aston martin vantage v8 and i would not buy one........i would rather a vrs any day of the week.......its a much better drive!!!

Unbeliev  able

I have had a very nice quite expensive remap no nasty backstreet j B) obbie.

Maybe not, I recently sold a 2.5 year old Range Rover with a lot of luxuries, and I could soon have a mkI VRS

Big expensive cars are not practical in a lot of ways.

Too early for me to say since I only bought mine last autumn but probably. It has been great fun and TOTALLY different from the Peugeot 306 Rallye (one of the best cheap drivers cars ever IMO) and three GTis of that brand we got through over seven years. Minor issues with this Black Magic one (first black car ever!) at start like replacing a hydralic unit thing that keeps the tailgate up (both in fact)and a senosr that went AWOL. No other problems yet.

I would for sure. But never ever red again!! Wish I had a silver or the Blue SE.

I like my cars to look clean 24/7 and you just can't do it with RED

Love the engine though.

There's nothing better than tearing away from a petrol guzzler while their waving "Bye Bye TDI"

Keep an eye on the classifieds in the next few months as our one-owner completely standard (except for 312mm brakes which can be removed), low milage vRS will be for sale soon. :p

No i wouldnt. But ill keep it for as long as I can before things start costing more to fix than the cars worth.

Then Ill move on to a newer skoda vRS.
