Genuine Rear Speaker Packs on eBay

Dealer Rear Speaker Upgrade packs

£15, SHIPPED!

(Not my auction, just pointing out stupidly good value)

Seem to be genuine dealer packs for Fabia's without rear speakers... But most likely better than the stock rear speakers as well by the looks of thing.

Just thought I'd share as I got to with in a Nats pube of getting a set to replace the cheap sony rubbish that's been put in mine.

Elliot...

Not sure they'll work as are, with your setup.... These appear to have tweeters built into the centre? (Though it's a tiny pic).

you can prob disconnect them easily though if make it all a bit "bright" in the back.

Ordered for Mrs Grrs car....

Out of interest Elliott, what speakers did you use for the front doors, and did you have to make the mdf rings?

i ordered these, and recieved them last week! I installed them straight away and i can saythey are very good. Much better than the standard ones and easy to fit! Also becasue the tweeter is further back in the car you dont get the annoying high pitched noise in your lughole!!

I can verify they are genuine skoda items, they come in a genuine box!

I was dubious to begin with, but at 15 quid it was worth a punt, and it succeeded!!

I bought some of these two months ago from the very same trader...

Pretty decent for the price....

Yup and they came in a genuine skoda box

Just ordered it myself, be it on your heads if its useless B)

Ordered just for the sake of it

perfect timing, my speakers are starting to get dodgy, are these for the back doors or the boot ones?

FWIW, Alpine 1780s work well and use Golf Mk4 speaker adaptors.

Both available via CarAudioDirect.

Have you got a link for the adaptors you used? there seems to be a 2-3 different types on CAD.

It was about 3 1/2 years ago :)

The info I posted at the time will still be on here though, somewhere. In fact it was in my Member's Car thread for my second Fabia if you want to go searching. Or I'll try to track down the info later.

I'll have a search when i get back from work - i was thinking of making the MDF rings but the adaptor sounds a lot easier!

Pretty sure it was these ones, cant' be 100% though. But the description sounds right:

That looks perfect - cheers!

Just bolt em onto the door and bolt the speakers to them? Now to pickup some dececnt speakers and sound deadening and get it all sorted. You may know this, is there much difference between Dynamat Xtreme Door Kit and Second Skin Audio Damplifier Pro Door Kit other than the price? I'm not going for the greatest system known to man, but i do want to deaden the doors.

This was my original post about it at the time:

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/75587-wardys-fabia-vrs/page__st__30__p__989634entry989634

Existing speakers are rivetted in, so those will need drilling out. No big deal really, just something to know about.

Not sure on the differences. At the time I went for some from eBay that was recommended by another member. Far cheaper than anything Dynamat did and the difference was noticeable, in sound quality but also cabin noise quality was improved too. So it did the trick for me. Sounds like you've similar objectives to me - improve the situation, but not spend a massive amount. I don't expect audiophile quality in-car so this setup was spot-on.

HTH,

Steve

Pretty sure it was these guys and this amount:

Might have been 20 sq ft but can't see that offered. Anyway, did the front doors twice, and a single covering on the rear doors. Might have even had a bit remaining to do a bit of the boot floor, to cut out some road noise.

Might even get some more of this, thinking about it - for the Octy. Road/tyre noise from the rear could be improved :)

Cheers,

Steve

ordered (Y) cheers rear speakers were getting a little shoddy of late. to anyone that has them fitted are they an improvement or just a replacement?

my old felicia had 5.25" speakers in the front witch work well for mid range low-mid range i added a set of tweeters that went down to high-mid range and they sounded great, replicated the fitting in the back and added a low-sub range woofer and the car sounded jazzy and hard. (loved it)

my question is, what diameter are the front speakers ? 3.5"? 4"? cus if its the same as the back, then its only god for mid range high-mid range application.

realy would hate it if they wher diferent diameter (smaller on the back) cus is harded to match acousticaly speaking (for me, turning the volume in the radio from 20% to 100% depending on mood / ocation / genre )

Yeh thats exactly my aim. I'm probably going to amplify the fronts, but only because i'm planning on a 10" sub and it makes sense to by a 4chan amp than just get a 2chan!

I do love my music, but as you said i'm not after audiophile quality. My passenger speaker blew last week, a split in the foam about 1/4 of the way round the cone :( But at least its a good reason to get it sorted!

Just gotta get the speakers, adaptors and deadening material first as i don't really want to have to take the doors apart loads of times. Then i need to work out a way of wiring up the speakers, to the HU before i get amp without buchering the original loom. Will be a bit of a project i think, looking forward to it - may even find another tutorial up on here if i can bring myself to photo every step i take :)

Back on topic though, I bought some of these speakers too!!! :p Seems like this eBayer has done quite well out of Briskoda today B)

Hi rob, Surely they would be just a replacement of the speakers that already fit in the back next to the parcel shelf, am i right? i may have read it completely wrong but when i said i had bought speakers and tweeters, the tweeters just use the same wire as the original tweeters that sit in the back door next too the handle

Out of interest Elliott, what speakers did you use for the front doors, and did you have to make the mdf rings?

Hey, i used 6.5" fly speakers for the front. i bought them with some plastic ring adaptors which fit roughly around the same diameter as the originals and then 165mm speakers (6.5") can be fitted to them. The fit is not exact but out of the three holes you can use mine are attatched by two screws from the adaptor to the door, then all four screws screw the speaker to the plate. The problems with front door speakers in the fabia is that the window runner goes directly behind the speaker hole so shallow speakers are needed. My speakers are stuck to that runner (because the bottoms are magnetic) and then screwed into the adaptors. This all holds it in place pretty strong and they dont interfere with the window runner :)

If you need these plastic adaptors i have a set i bought off ebay which are the same size as the ones i have in the car only i couldn't be a*sed to wait for them so bought some more. You can have them for a tenner if you need mate. Let me know :)

I just ordered some Focal Polyglass VR Slim mount components for the front. Like simon I'm planning on amping them up but not decided whether to run them through the crossover or active through a 4 channel amp with filters. Have seen some really good deals on some Genesis amps but I want to keep everything hidden and I won't fit them out of sight. The JL audio XD series seem to be a great solution as they are so small and efficient but are pretty expensive still (by my standards). As for the adapters, it's best to make some up out of MDF or plywood as the stiffness they provide when compared to plastic will improve the sound. For sound deadening a lot of the people on Talk Audio reckon Silent Coat (google it) is the best stuff going for a reasonable price. Quite a few reckoned it was as good as Dynamat but about half the price as a bulk pack can be had for about £70-80.

Might get a set of these speakers for the rear as well and run them off the head unit.
