I've installed the speakers in today. I left the door tweeters unplugged and just cut the original connectors off and crimped the new ones on (i have no intention of going back to standard really so didn't see the point in messing around).

As i've unplugged the rear tweeters it has brought the whole soundstage forwards, but still has some filler from the rear. Don't expect these speakers to be very good with the low frequencies as they aren't but they do work pretty well.

If you wanted to, and have a soldering iron you can remove the connector from the old speakers (it will just slide off once the wires have been unsoldered and pulled off) and connect them to the new speakers - that was you don't have to cut any wires at all.

FYI - the negative speaker cables for the original wiring are the ones with brown on them. Make sure you connect both rear speakers with the correct polarity otherwise your low frequencies will be even worse :yes:

p.s. Just bought some right now, lol..... one of the last 4 sets.. At least I can whip out the cheapo Sony's in there now.

I'll never understand it... The original owner spent hundreds on Focals for the front doors and then seems to have bought the cheapest Sony rubbish he could find in the back?

sorry no pics it takes ages to upload them sorry. is sounds loads better n clear and there is 4 wires either side at the back. think they are something to do with the tweeters as they dont work anymore

Just got mine, can't believe the weight of them for such small speakers, they must pack a bit of a punch.

I have. They are a definite improvement over the standard ones - the treble and mids sound much nicer, just don't expect any mega bass from them (after all they are only 3") although they do go a lot louder before any distortion kicks in.

Anyone buying these kits just for the speakers the wires are worth keeping and may even sell on Ebay assuming people knew what they were, so do not bin them

The crimps on the ISO end are the equivalent of part number 000 979 225 (000979225): 2.5mm repair wire. One function the ends of the wires can perform is to install a fuse into the fusebox (the small ones at the top), and a host of other things where that type and size is used.
