Genuine Rear Speaker Packs on eBay

Featured Replies

Thanks for this. I presume it comes with the pins for the ISO connector. I loathe having to remove the stereo again though, took me ages to fit and I even broke part trying to fit it, lol.

Would these be a huge upgrade on standard rear vrs speakers?

Would these be a huge upgrade on standard rear vrs speakers?

Certainly would improve the sound I reckon.

You can disconnect the rear door tweeters as these have their own built in ones.

Moving the tweeters back a couple of feet should reduce the hiss a fair bit.

At the end of the day it's not a huge sum of money to find out and Duncan (Kotlewski69)

says the sound is better as he's already fitted a set in his.

Anyone got a step by step guide to fitting these or are they plug and play ?

still no answer, what is the diameter of the original speakers to do a straight swap, is it 6.5" or 5.25" or 4"

This was my original post about it at the time:

http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/75587-wardys-fabia-vrs/page__st__30__p__989634entry989634

Existing speakers are rivetted in, so those will need drilling out. No big deal really, just something to know about.

Not sure on the differences. At the time I went for some from eBay that was recommended by another member. Far cheaper than anything Dynamat did and the difference was noticeable, in sound quality but also cabin noise quality was improved too. So it did the trick for me. Sounds like you've similar objectives to me - improve the situation, but not spend a massive amount. I don't expect audiophile quality in-car so this setup was spot-on.

HTH,

Steve

So would these do the trick for replacing the front speakers?

I ordered mine at 430 then got a email saying they'd been dispatched.

Dealer Rear Speaker Upgrade packs

£15, SHIPPED!

(Not my auction, just pointing out stupidly good value)

Seem to be genuine dealer packs for Fabia's without rear speakers... But most likely better than the stock rear speakers as well by the looks of thing.

Just thought I'd share as I got to with in a Nats pube of getting a set to replace the cheap sony rubbish that's been put in mine.

Hiya,

Would these be replacing the speakers that are on either side of the parcel shelf (ie in the boot)??

If so, would these be worth buying to replace the factory ones that are already in my car? (I already have speakers either side of the parcel shelf, and they seem pretty poor quality)

What connections do these speakers have?

Same as the factory fitted rear ones, or the normal spade type connectors.

I strongly suspect they are the VW style pin connectors. I.e. unplug stereo, unclip purple retainer, push pin in appropriate hole, put purple clip back.

i feel ignored, please, i want a straight swap size, so just need the standard size of original fron speakers, i'm going to buy them as soon as you post size (so i dont have to disasemble the door twice)

The size of the speakers in the Fabia are 6.5' (17cm)

You're not being ignored, its just that pretty much all the information you need is in this exact thread ;)

The rear speakers are 4inch diameter and if you want to replace them, you'll probably find that the ebay auction this thread is about is the best place.

As far as the front speakers go, its not really a case of just switching the speakers around. The OEM speakers are built into the adaptors and are rivited in place. To replace them you have two options, goto a Skoda dealership and buy some more OEM ones (i don't think they are too expensive). The other option is to buy a pair of Mk4 Golf speaker adaptors (link in this thread too), and the speakers you'll need to fit them are 6.5inch.

Once you have the replacements, drill out the old speaker rivets and change the speakers over. Its not quite as simple as it could be but something that can be undertaken. There's quite a few (when i say "a few", i mean "LOADS") of threads explaining exactly what you need to do - search is your friend ;)

*whispers*

They aren't  the standard fabia OEM speakers are 5.25(ish)inch - if upgrading then you can go as large as 6.5inch.

I understand that the speakers also need to be slim in depth as there is not much space?

An idiot's shopping list of speakers would be good :D (I suppose one could be compiled with the use of Google to search Briskoda).
