Genuine Rear Speaker Packs on eBay

Featured Replies

I understand that the speakers also need to be slim in depth as there is not much space?

An idiot's shopping list of speakers would be good :D (I suppose one could be compiled with the use of Google to search Briskoda).

There seems to be a estimate that the speaker depth (with the golf adaptors) can't be any more than roughly 60mm. Since the Hertz ESK 165.3 speakers i'll be getting in the next week or so have a mounting depth of 62mm i'll be able to say then if there's any more space available.

I may well do an up to date fitting and shopping list guide when i do it myself as i'm planning on replacing the speakers and sound deadening the doors at the same time. Also i may be trying to run these speaker off my headunit short term whilst i look at getting the cash together for an amp so will also be able to explain how they sound before and after being amped (all questions i've been looking for answers myself but not been able to find yet)

Another thing I am interested in is those speakers with separate tweeters, and can the tweeters replace the ones already in the doors or does there have to be some creative work to mount new tweeters?

Edit: some speaker options I have found which might work, be cheap, and better than standard without needing an amp (hopefully)...

Blaupunkt THC662

Apparently 1inch tweeters will just replace the ones in the doorframes, but again i'm not 100% sure till i have a go myself

so this is what i´m going to do,

5 1/4 60watts neodymium speakers, mid range X 4

1" tweeters X 2

4" cone tweeters x 2

6 1/2" dual coil bazooka x 1

2 channel 240 watt amp x 1

DEH3000ip pioneer radio (2 preo-outs 200watts total output {RMS 15watts x 4}) x 1

crossover system @ 2k x 4

capacitor / filter pack x 2

Install the radio and amp using a capasitor filter pack, radio standard wiring, amp with 8 gauge wire direct to battery

swap door speakers and install rear speakers in parcel shelf front tweeters standar install, rear cone tweeters in oem speaker location

wire amp to radio RCA pre-outs cut off frequency @ 100htz wire front and rear speakers to radio outputs w crossover for tweeters mid ranges @ 1.5khz (radio set to hp filter @ 160htz)

thanks for the info on the front speakers, now the mad scientist is at work (muahhahahaa)

end result 0 noticeable distortion @ 80% volume, almost flat frequency from 80htz to 16khz >20amp/h battery load @ full volume

hahaha ive just got theses speakers for 7.99 with no postage because they are selling them in my town at autoworld :rofl::rofl:

BARGAIN!!!!!!!

Hiya,

Would these be replacing the speakers that are on either side of the parcel shelf (ie in the boot)??

If so, would these be worth buying to replace the factory ones that are already in my car? (I already have speakers either side of the parcel shelf, and they seem pretty poor quality)

Yes they are the replacements for the ones at the back next to the shelf.

You ask a question about if they would be worth it to replace yours but you have already answered it, you say yours are poor quality and the ones available here are dealer upgrades, id say the answered would be yes

How come there's so many of these around, did Skoda order 100,000 instead of 10,000 or something? :D

Yes, but you will need adapters to fit them to the doors.

Aye I know, I found adaptors on the same site thanks to Wardy's link, cheers :)

Also just found these, of course after ordering the original ones in this thread! Good price though

In a word yes,

They have built in tweeters so when I fit Mrs Grrs I will unplug her rear door tweeters permanently.

IMO they are too close to the drivers ears. It's why I wanted different speakers.

These look to me like they will fit the bill. And at that price I'm prepared to take a chance.

What connections do these speakers have?

Same as the factory fitted rear ones, or the normal spade type connectors.

Spade type connectors, some wiring is supplied with them attached,

Some adaptation of the existing wiring in the car WILL be required though.

Result!! But the ones in the link still represent good value I reckon.

anyone fitting them a guide would be good as to which wires need modifying

Thanks for the reply.

The reason I asked if they were worth while was because the word 'Upgrade' could have meant upgrade from no speakers (seeing as they come with the full wiring kit too).

Thanks again, I'll get some ordered

Fitting Guide(ish)

1. Head unit out, centre console out.

2. Screw the rear speaker in it says to take the rear seat belt out but i just left one of the screws out seamed a lot easier haha

3. I had no rear speakers so had to run the wires, plunged them in the the original block connectors ran them though the dash to the centre console.

4. then at the end of the centre console (carefully) jammed a tyre lever any large screw driver type thing will do( to avoid taking all the carpet up) , threaded some thin stiff ( took many attempts) wire to under the seats then used this to pull the wires though

4. Then under the carpet under the rear cushions to either side then in to the space behind the carpet in the sides of the boot and on to the speakers

5. re-assemble the the centre console

There is no doubt other ways to do this, and this is not the way the instructions say to do it but it seamed to be the easiest way to me and only wires viable are when the seats are down but only about a inch or two.

Good product and defiantly better than no speakers haha

Good Look :)

Probably a stupid question but I have an elegance estate which already has rear speakers, I have just taken delivery of the blaupunkt ones and they seem great for the money - is it just a matter of replacing the speakers themselves and using the existing wiring?

Thanks

I've just recieved mine, you'll need to cut the existing connections off and replace them with the new ones unfortunatly.

Got mine today. Surely you don't need to replace the existing wiring. I plan on crimping this lead to the old lead.

man after my own heart

Thats exactly what I was going to do when I fit my set in the other halves car.

Using some of these....

Not sure I fancy scotchlocs on speaker wiring, but at least there is no risk of fire anyway. A better idea would be butt crimp connectors crimped using a decent crimper (example) would be better and just as easy. Solder and heatshrink is better still.

fitted mine today took about 30mins to do both sides.. dint cut any wires at all went to my local wire shop and home made some wires that went into the skoda plugs then onto the speakers... they sound loads better winner and what a bargain i got hehe :giggle:

I work for bt n have crimps called jelly crimps. N if they've worked for years at bt don't think gna effect speaker cable much lol

Sounds like a plan.... Scotchloks would add some resistance I'd imagine.

Looks like a trip to maplins is in order.

Any pics of your effort Ant? And how much of an improvement in sound would

you say there is?? Did you leave the door tweeters disconnected?

I don't have any rear speakers so have ordered these to beef things up a bit!
