Noob vRS Owner....(56k)

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I'm doll off RSC (for the benefit of Nigel26, Monkey Boy and Boyced (all ex-RSC, lol) :).

Myself and the other half have just purchased a 51 (Jan 02) plate Octavia. Purchased it off the lease company that supplied it to the company that I work for, I have still got my Clio 16v aswell.

The vRS has a Brembo 4-pot upgrade kit, chipped (RR'd at 205.8bhp when it was fitted two years ago), Denso Iridiums and a panel filter. The car has done 83k and we are paying the pricely sum of

Nice car, and nice choice. Welcome to briskoda.

Welcome

Nice to see you blurred the plates on the real car in those pics ;)

Nice one Doll, welcome!

What chip has it got?

Thats a lotta car for your money mate - you did well.

Hello and Welcome:D

Hell of a car for the money? may I ask if its fairly high mileage? Lovely brakes!

Sounds like a bargain  Welcome :)

There seams to be a trend starting here Doll  . Pitty i will be getting rid of mine around august time  :D .

Doll, firstly welcome to Briskoda, secondly does you car had spacers on the front to clear the Brembo four pots?

iirc Jason was thinking of getting them for the front of his Octavia vRS and asked me if they did or not.

Thanks all! I feel I did get a bargain, missus drove it for the first time on Sunday. She wanted to go around the industrial estate local to me first, that progressed into a 25 mile drive round family and friends, I virtually had to pry it from her finger nails when we got home. She loves it which is great, I was a bit worried as she is coming out of a Megane 1.9 dTi, but at the moment she's loving double the horses. :)

Paul, you can't get rid now! But if you do can I have your grill, lol ;p

Mark, i'll have to get back to you on the chip, receipts and bits are at work.

Ross, yes it has spacers for the caliper to clear the standard wheels. IIRC they were 15mm and we had to get longer wheels bolts.

Mark.

Welcome Doll, I see a nice clean Phase 1 Valver.. I owned a White Phase 1 and they are quick for what they are.

Just for future knowledge, I have asked about the spacing for the Brembo kit and apparently it is 10mm to clear the caliper (its still really close though). My car also used the original wheel bolts, but ideally they need to be around 5mm longer. :)

Put some P Zero Neros on it, rather than those horrible P6000s, oh and swap to 225/45s at the same time :D

Nice car though and a very good price - I traded my 140k one for more than you paid for yours

Ewww! It's black! Everyone knows that Octavias should be either red or yellow!

Seriously, though, nice car! - And welcome to Briskoda

Nice car, nice price - good buy :) Seriously though how do you find out about deals like that?

Cheers!

It was one of our company cars, the lease actually finished at the start of Jan. So I asked the lease company if they would be willing to sell the car to me and we came to an agreement on the price and bob's your uncle as they say :)

That's a cracking price for what should be a good car for a while yet. Well done!

Paul' date=' you can't get rid now! But if you do can I have your grill, lol ;p[/quote']

Why not spray the original grill, first thing I did to mine. In fact the car was only 3 days old when I did it!

Nice one, I have seen some of the pics on RSC, looks like it's going to be a bit of a beast! Next time Lowe's up at EP (can't be long before his car breaks as it hasn't for a while now, lol) i'll hitch a ride, we'll have to give you a shout and meet up. :)

That looks nice Mark. I'm going to get the bonnet, bumper and wings re-sprayed anyway as they are covered in stone chips. Looks like I will be stealing your idea :P

Thanks all again for the welcome, just got to order my Chrome sticker now then :P :)

I spy the dance tent at santa pod...behind the clio lol...

nice to see you have gone skoda.... some infulence from fellow RSC members by any chance?
