focus rs burnt me off.need more power

Not many Chavs can afford 30k plus motors

Think he meant its not exactly a subtle body kit which probably appeals to a certain kind of person plus if your trying to take one of these on in a diesel (obviously on the track not on the public highway officer) you better get an audi or a bmw!

Even a 335d bmw is gonna have its hands full living with a well driven focus RS. Nothing in the current skoda range even comes close and to be honest if one pulled up alongside me at the lights i wouldn't even waste my time.

Unless of course i was sat on the S1000RR in which case i'd hope the RS driver wouldn't even waste his time :-)

I love diesel drivers replies...... It's always about the mpg.:giggle:

You must be joking, to get the published mpg you have to drive it like a grave dodger

just been burnt off by a focus rs.not much in it,i had the edged at first but he pulled away.not much of a driver but his car was new.going to say he could still be running it in.

got the 170 cr tdi,remapped.

what will be the next stage, and what sort of results

dpf removal= ? bhp

air filter upgrade= ?bhp

what after that

I would suggest a penis enlargement and then you won't have to worry about compensating with a bigger engine.

Or just buy a different car

Mk2 FRS?

I had the Mk2 FRS and I can tell you that the vRS TDi would not be able to keep up wit it at all. Your comment above "not much in it" is a joke.

Was the driver laughing as you were tryng to keep up with it at all haha.

Everyone swears by Shark for the remaps mate you could try them.

Didnt Clarkeson say it should have been called the Ford ASBO ? emoticon-0140-rofl.gif

No mate that was the Focus ST

Why bother? I never understand the logic and mindset of tweaking and modding with the prime objective of being able to beat another car on the road. What if you pile '000s into it, and then don't see another FRS Mk2 on the road? :)

Or you conquered that challenge and produce a hugely powered and tweaked vRS - but shock horror, an RS6/M5/911 Turbo/Noble.... then pulls up alongside. The list is virtually endless. What will you do then?

My comment to the OP????

Grow up!!

Being an ex mod i would just like to post some friendly advice:-

If this thread is to discuss mods to to the vRS then fine, but any thread that implies any form of racing on the public highway is frowned upon and actively discouraged.

Were not against modding or comparing cars for speed / power either on paper or in the appropriate environments ( track days), but don't want to encourage hot headed or illegal behaviuor.

P.S - I enjoy reading posts where people uplift their cars and compare the meerkat market for similar models emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Can't believe it took until post 19 for the right answer

The only safe place for willy-waving is on a track, but I think the enlargement option might be a good starting point before you contemplate waving it :S

a stage 2+ TFSI with 270-280Hp will and can stay with a focus RS. I know this from personal experience as does mater. you wont beat them, but you wont get lost. however through the bends even fully modified as mine was i still struggled to keep with them on track. especially on the brakes.

So you need to spend about 3-4k on your petrol vRS for engione/chassis mods to stay comparable to a std Focus RS. if you have the diesel id just give up, you havent got the power.

my mate had a P-Torque stage 1 vRS estate PD TDI. he couldnt get anywhere near me with my car @ stage 2+ by a huge margin, and i was struggling to stay with the Focus.

that said a guy in work had his focus RS delivered and went for some in gear runs with my octavia knowing id modded it, and was devestated that he didnt leave me. Especially when i lied and told him it was only about 260hp lol. He went and got it mapped that weekend and kept asking for a retry, to which i declined

agreed 100%. Even when mapped the TDI vRS is only capable of being comparable to a stage 1 TFSI whihc isnt fast either IMO. they only get quick when stage 2 or 2+ because its a big heavy car

Your motor must be rapid :smirk:

You're not even the same league against the Ford. (Like a boy racing a man) LOL

If you're that put out sell the diesel Skoda and get the Ford.emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Ford all the way!

My FRS was wrote off due to someone student girl rear endiing me. Ford could not replace the FRS due to them not making anymore so paid out plus compensation. I dont think you can even compare the FRS and the CR vRS IMO. Different league of car.

Agreed

he probably meant the mk1 focus RS in all fairness. theres no way in the world its the mk2 unless the focus pulled off in 5th gear that he'd be anywhere near it.

Love the RS. mint car

Awesome car!

Ive had 4 ST's before the RS and although it had the same engine though different spec turbo etc. it was totally different to the ST bags of power and tourqe.

The only thing I was worried about owner the RS was someone coming into the house for the keys to it

Had an St before as well. loved it, but the skoda was a much better all rounder. Still awesome to see peoples face when they realise a 5 door skoda with a huge boot was keeping up with their super hot hatch, thats why i love modifying cars.

Would love to drive a modified RS to see how they perform. i think id end up with the Meganne RS250 instead though

Speaking from experience of having a remapped CR, the not much in it comment is laughable. The RS clearly wasn't trying. I followed a Focus ST the other day and it pulled away from me, not much, but enough for me to know it was the quicker car.

Also consider a DE-DPF Stage 2 TDI vRS is only good for 220-235Hp,
