You'll need an Octavia vRS 2.0TFSi with a K04 turbo and REVO stage 3 to rape (and I mean rape) one of these. I know from experience ;)

Quality  Please feel free to entertain us all ;)

I agree with post 9, post 14 n think the OP should, a- grow up, b-get a life and c-buy a faster car if he insists on wanting to drive A LOT faster

Police use Octavias for pursuit work and still have some Mk1s. Supposedly around 300 hp with the turbo changed and mapped, the 2 litre VRS are a little bit more, around 310 hp it is reckoned; which is what you can of course buy an official SEAT Cupra R tweaker version at least from the Dutch national importer, presumably with warranty but LHD if you want VAG but an RS4 would be better but pricey.

UK Police have started to buy Superbs with the 260 hp 3.6 litre V6, but with 4 wheel drive and they have a good amount of weight if it is needed to punt the pursued car off the road or do the 3 car box if the want to on the motorway/ dual carriageway.

Not sure how much can be done to the Skoda V6 motor so probably easier to drop in the R36 motor from the Passat. In normal British conditions V6 Superb is quick enough to keep up with an Focus RS but an RS4 would be the answer as it would outpreform a RS without even breaking sweat.

Lol your comparing two different league of cars RS4 against a FRS. I think the bugatti veyron would beat the RS4 without breaking a sweat!!

This topic is getting boring now with some childish people commenting please grow up.

Its a big myth that the police modify their cars, other than drilling a million holes in the roof they are completely standard in the engine and suspension department......they DO NOT advocate high speed pursuits, instead use trailing tactics, airborne surveillance and teamwork wherever possible not out and out speed.......trying to stop a determined criminal in a car at high speed is the job of the stingers and blocking / channelling techniques .......would you try to overtake and stop someone who is in all likelihood going to ram you off the road if you get near them.....I wouldn't think so

Some police cars are remapped however they definitely don't have big turbos and the like.

as said most police cars are standerd even the motorway cops and a new focus rs is a very quick car i had a play with one in my mrk1 vrs and he killed me lol

we supply the bits for south yorkshire polices fleet, they are all running standard running gear and my old vrs was ex plod and was standard aswell

just been burnt off by a focus rs.not much in it,i had the edged at first but he pulled away.not much of a driver but his car was new.going to say he could still be running it in.

got the 170 cr tdi,remapped.

what will be the next stage, and what sort of results

dpf removal= ? bhp

air filter upgrade= ?bhp

what after that

You could try growing up? Just a thought.

Posting from the after life..................scary :o

Raped and killed ? What charming expressions the youth of today use.

I suppose 'blown off' or 'burned off' mean different things from my younger days.

Being an ex mod (hot shot)i would just like to post some friendly advice:-

If this thread is to discuss mods to to the vRS then fine, but any thread that implies any form of racing on the public highway is frowned upon and actively discouraged.

Sorry Dad. emoticon-0140-rofl.gif (no offence intended)

2.0Turbo Diesel vs 2.5L 5 pot petrol turbo. No matter what you do, you're going to lose and I very much doubt he was trying much.

If you love burning other pferformance care, you shouldn't of goten a Family diesel Skoda :)

But anyway, for the sake of racing 3-4 times a year to other others, just enjoy your Skoda :)

Funny thread, i do agree they are very different cars, if the guy in the RS did try then shame on him,. Since I have had my Subaru weekend car fully built (500bhp +) the enjoyment of showing people up has gone when you know you could destroy them you no longer feel the need to do so.

Well said. Drivers of more powerful cars don't have to try hard. Secondly there's always the fantasist that pulls up alongside and wants to test inferior power machinery. No matter what car you have, there's always a faster (read more suicidally determined) driver trying to outdrag you.

And I blew off a WR whatever Suburu on bike with one hand on the handlebar whilst doing a yawning motion on my Fazer a few months ago.

I have been following this thread for a while and I have to say, it really has no place alongside sensible topics, it has already been mentioned but I will reiterate, racing is for the track not the road, whilst this 'burn off' was taking place did either driver consider the consequences of one silly mistake?? The irony is it's usually the innocent third party that is the ultimate loser!

Yes I have a remap, and yes my car will shift, but when is appropriate and more importantly legal, if I get some nob giving it the large, whether it be in their supped up Saxo or Audi R8, I let them get on with it, safe in the knowledge I will not become a statistic.

Ok now that’s out of the way, what ever the OP has taken, I want some! A sensible family diseasel against the fastest production Ford ever made........................:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Now you are assuming the speed limit was broken.

It could be argued that doing 32 in a 30 on your way home from work tonight was more irresponsible than trying to stay ahead of a car in the lane next to you up to the legal limit.

Whilst I agree that any form of irresponsible driving should not be condoned, to tell someone it has no place on a public motoring forum is equally short sighted.

If you don't like it or don't agree with it don't comment on it.

What an ironic statement!

Just for the record, I wasn't assuming anything, so lets not fall out over it!

I too assumed he was driving dangerously. He still might have been. My point was we don't know for sure.

When I reread the opening post I realised the guy was just asking for some advice on how to make his car faster.

The thread then promptly turned into a rather unpleasant attack on the OP with some harsh comments.

Definitely not worth arguing over, I just felt the need to defend the OP

As some said no law (yet) on acceleration. If I go from 0 to 70 mph in 4 seconds on the bike then cool, if some pseudo rally thinks he will pull out to pass as we go on to a dual carriageway the bike does the 0 to 70 in 4 seconds and the car learns its place.

"Vulturum non capit muscam!" (The eagle does not catch flies.)

I tend to back off at 70 ish and let him go. Do not care if it is a Veyron or whatever (mind that Ariel Atom looked something but then it is as much bike as car, even got a bike maker's name) cars. MCs are so much quicker accelerating, and cheap to get that performance, cars are soooo sloooow.
