Max you will probably get after both mods and another remap to cover the DPF removal will be around 210ish BHP. There is little hope of you sticking with a Focus RS I'm afraid!

bigger turbo?

i see people claiming 260bhp with those mods and a stage 2 remap

But an Octavia with 260hp is nowhere near the car or the chassis that the Focus RS is. You're targeting too fast ;)

To be honest I'm not overly sure on mods to a diesel. I have the newer TSI petrol model which responds very well to Shark stage 1, mine is pushing circa 255 bhp.

I know from mods on the older TFSI petrol model to achieve anything like the Focus RS you need to go Stage 2+ i.e. high pressure fuel pump, intercooler, intake, full exhaust and map! but again I'm not sure mods on a diesel would get you anywhere near those power figures.

i just feel another 60/70 bhp would have done him in real life driving.

May have stayed with him for a bit during mid range acceleration possibly but certainly not off the line. Diesels are notoriously poor off the mark because the rev off to quickly in first and all that tourque and power through the front wheels with no LSD - you're going nowhere emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

Those Mk2 FRS's are very fast indeed! With nearly 300bhp as standard you are going to need to spend thousands on your car to get any where near that performance. I like most people enjoy modifying cars but I think there is a point where you have to say "Why don't I just buy a more powerful car as standard......then make it more powerful" Every car has its limits.... Id personally buy an Evo 6, add a few choice mods. Easy 350 to 400bhp plus 4 wheel drive. Then see the FRS struggle to keep up. Plus they are very cheap to buy now. I think Ive just talked myself into my next car lol emoticon-0178-rock.gif

Pretty sure I've heard a lot of rs don't make 300hp, plus the rs is heavier, with your diesel torque, you will give one a run for its money until 3 figures if you get the dpf delete. It will forever eventually win

A personal favorite car of mine :giggle:

only problem is now they're so old you would struggle to find a good example :(

You'll need an Octavia vRS 2.0TFSi with a K04 turbo and REVO stage 3 to rape (and I mean rape) one of these. I know from experience ;)

You need a motorbike. Even a 600 will leave him for dead.

Cheaper than modding the car!

i would forget it and smile that you had a go with him in your skoda bet you worried him too :giggle:

like me dad once said ........NAY LASS THA NOSE I ALLUS DRIVE A FOO-ORD

this was after mum wanted a vooaxall :giggle:

skodas rule ok.co.uk/sharkperformance will sort it

Best way is get your mum to drop you off to school before doing the shopping at Tesco. It's all about weight these drag races. Every little helps....

Or grow some *******s and let the speed cameras beat him?

Edited by Moley RUFC

were you meaning the mk1 rs or mk2?

Focus Rs has a very trick diff meaning it can also get the power down better, cheapest mod to beat him is a couple of blue lights behind the grill, he will let you pass then :giggle:

Best solution I found to beating the earlier ones was a modded octy 4x4

Yes, we are talking about cars that are in different leagues if we are speaking of the latest RS. The chassis is miles better, and the torque convertor gives them buch better traction.

Anyway, only school boys are concerened aboput 0-60 or 'burning another car off', real driving is all about how well composed your car is in all situations, especially through corners, how it feels on the edge and teh response and feedback. Afraid to say the RS will have you beat there to.

Even a 600 :giggle: my old K6 GSXR used to do 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and topped out at 168mph, I never even used to bother playing with anything as slow as a Focus RS

Being an ex mod i would just like to post some friendly advice:-

If this thread is to discuss mods to to the vRS then fine, but any thread that implies any form of racing on the public highway is frowned upon and actively discouraged.

Were not against modding or comparing cars for speed / power either on paper or in the appropriate environments ( track days), but don't want to encourage hot headed or illegal behaviuor.

P.S - I enjoy reading posts where people uplift their cars and compare the meerkat market for similar models emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

How things have moved on, I can remember hanging onto a Gs 1000 at around 145 in the late 70's thinking how fast that was, Imagine if I had predicted in a 30 years time a std Skoda would be quicker :giggle:

easy just wait until it runs out of fuel.............. :p

I would have just pulled in and let the focus go on ahead only time you will pass a focus RS is when it's parked up:giggle:

or when the Chav is upside down in a ditch

or when the Chav is upside down in a ditch

Not many Chavs can afford 30k plus motors

lol

I love diesel drivers replies...... It's always about the mpg.:giggle:
