But thanks for the heads up :)

that will NOT help you, it affects Outlook/Express as well as IE and because IE is part of Windows these flaws usually can be used to access your system whether you use Internet Explorer or not.

No problem here with a MacBook :)

You've got to find a way of exploiting the vulnerability. And IE provides just such a way!

Where's your info about Outlook and Outlook Express? I've not seen those mentioned in any technical bulletins thus far.

Just not worth going looking for MacOS vulnerabilities Len. Just wouldn't affect enough people :smirk:

;)

No problems either with my iMac ;)

Might need to update my laptop though...emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Not using IE means you should be fine..... As per the following from Microsoft.....

"Although the flaw is actually inside Windows itself, it only appears to affect the way that Internet Explorer handles some web pages and documents."

Cheers

Dave.

Firefox and a plug in called NOSCRIPT

Don't ever get spyware or malware.

:)

Q: Name one thing that Internet Explorer is very good at doing?

Ans: ......Downloading FireFox (or Chrome, Opera, etc)

Edited by Jim H

Actually NoScript wont stop all spyware, some is bundled in some Firefox addons, and other freeware programs; either when you first install them or during an update.

Just this week I sent a complaint to the makers of FoxLingo after their latest update installed SUPERFISH without my consent.

As for the comments about outlook and Outlook Express. DUH!! Download ThunderBird at the same time you download Firefox!!!!

I dont use a computer.. so im fine....... erm :giggle:

If you download / go on dodgy sites / open dodgy emails.. you kinda ask to be attacked lol

Thanks for the heads up.. I best behave on my pc for a while,., or stick to chrome

Seems like Windows have again fallen foul of it's operating system with bloody-minded hackers.

Sticking with iMac with Windows XP 32bit OEM partition, which is used only for off-line work.

Able to close-down partition quickly and re-boot if any nasties show their heads.
